Yeah, and Channing Frye in 2005, Rafael Araujo in 2004, TJ Ford in 2003, Chris Wilcox in 2002, DeSagana Diop in 2001

But you do have Rudy Gay and Jamal Crawford, so it’s not a curse or anything.

Ok, speaking as another Piston fan, who do you think should be the #8 pick THIS year??

I am not overly excited with our 8th pick.  Last year with Greg Monroe – I knew he would be a good pro. I was excited to get him.

They might go for Tristian Thompson, I don’t think Joe D will risk another euro pick. Leonard or Walker if available might be an option.  None really excite me as much as Monroe

I think they should try and trade the pick. I like Faried and Singleton – their hardworking style of play would fit in well and could get some mentoring from Ben Wallace if he comes back.  They could trade down to 17-22 and nab one of those 2 guys

What do you think of an idea I had where we could possibly swap our #8 pick with Houston for their #14 and #23 picks? Just a thought.

I love them getting Faried and posted it on Another Pistons thread…they can’t afford to take the risk on Bismack and Valenceunas…heads will roll if they bust…getting Kemba and Faried would be a dream draft for the Pistons…

You fool! The Bobcats didn’t pick Wright, they traded the pick to the Warriors, and the Warriors picked B.Wright. Get your facts right!

@maaaronmms, First of all, this post was pointless, youu didn’t even realized that there have been sucessfull 8 picks that have gone on to have nice careers. Second, get your facts right! You shouldn’t know this stuff off your head, but you should know the difference between owning the pick then trading it, and trading for a pick and then using it.

as a pistons fan i’m just hoping its not biyombo, he has bust written all over him. There wont be any point guards available when we’re picking and we have daye, and monroe at the 3 and 4 so it should be a center

I think that Detroit need a C but would they risk it on Biyombo? Valunciunas is a good player and may be gone by 8th but could Dumars get away with another Euro guy after Darko?

Ideally I’d like them to trade up and try for Kanter but I cannot see an easy way to do that.

8th picks haven’t been great down the years and even with Larry Hughes who has had a good NBA career, the next two players picked behind him in 1998 were Dirk Nowitzki and Paul Pierce!
