If by chance anyone on the forum who really focus and thrive on the excitement of incoming transfers year in and out, could you answer the following if you happen to know?

If you would like to answer these questions as All-Time it would be great, but I’ll give you a window from 2000-2014 just to make it more simplified.

Which school has lost the most players due to transferring?

Which school has acquired the most transfers?

     ——————————————————–

As of right now I’m thinking Florida possibly has acquired the most transfers to date.

If talking just the past couple of years…

In terms of quality of talent we normally get, NC State has to be up there on this list on who have lost the most.

First it was Ryan Harrow, while he receives a lot of hate for his underacheiving college career he still is a good D1 Point guard.

Then it was McDonalds All-American Rodney Purvis, who people have forgotten but the hype will be back  at UCONN next year.

And now this year we lost another McDonalds All-American in Tyler Lewis. He cant do much outside of run an offense but he is brilliant at that and is good at not turning the ball over. He is at Butler this year.

NC State cant expect to compete in the ACC if they keep losing their top talent. Would have been great to see Lewis, Cat Barber, Purvis, and Warren together the next two years I feel they could have had a real shot at the ACC title.

Something is just not right down there with the coaching. The initial pitch to these guys must have been well above-average.

ucla had a string of transfers under howland. mike moser who went to unlv then oregon. Matt carlino was riding the pine and went to byu. josh smith went to georgetown. Tyler lamb who was starting and playing 30+ minutes for ucla left to go to long beach state. drew gordon was starting and playing well for the bruins then left to go to new mexico. Chace stanback left for unlv when he couldnt get any minutes. Brendan lane was a solid big man off the bench but was recruited out of playing time so he left for pepperdine where he started last season. Im sure there are a few more i cant think of off the top of my head right now.

Fred Hoiberg at ISU has a history of luring top level transfers year in and year out. Royce White, Will Clyburn, and DeAndre Kane to name a few. He’s also done very well recruiting the JC ranks. Dustin Houge, was a top Juco player and started all year for the Cyclones.

Iowa State has gotten a lot transfers recently. Royce White, DeAndre Kane, Bryce Dejean-Jones, Korie Lucious, Will Clyburn, Chris Babb, Anthony Booker, Chris Allen, Scott Christopherson and Darion Anderson have all been key rotation guys since 2010 that were transfers. Fred Hoiberg does an excellent job of taking chances on the guys teams have doubts about and getting the best out of them.

I like what Billy Donovan has been receiving as of late.

    • Vernon Macklin/Georgetown
    • Mike Rosario/Rutgers
    • Dorian Finney-Smith/Virginia Tech
    • Jon Horford/Michigan

Just to think if he would have started off with these guys in his recruitment process.

Duke has lost so many players its ridiculous.  I’m not being biased, but its just the facts.  Off the top of my head…..Elliot Williams, Michael Gbinije, Andre Sweet, Olek Czyz, Eric Boateng, Jamal Boykin, Taylor King, Alex Murphy  It obviously hasn’t affected K that much since he has 2 national championships since 2000 and 3 final fours, but it seems like Duke is always losing a guy every couple of years.

When you have ten top 100 players on your roster, you’re inevitably going to lose a player.

Who are some of the best NBA players all time to transfer schools in college? Whether they were eligible to play the following college season or they had to sit out a year.
