Anton123ParticipantMichael Wilson holds the record for highest dunk ever.
Could right now anyone beat the record?
Maybe an athletic 7 footer like McGee or just tall crazy leapers like Justin Darlington, AUT or Young Hollywood?
I’m not sure everyone is familiar with Young Hollywood’s hops
Probably a bit lower than the standard rim, but he’s the highest jusmping dunker alive right now.

Anton123ParticipantSee I mean it’s not like that’s something absolutely impossible, could Dwight Howard dunk on a 12 ft rim?

omphalosParticipantDidn’t Howard dunk a 12 foot ring at his last dunk contest? Michael Wilson dunk was huge, he doesn’t look anywhere near as tall as Howard, so that’s a ridiculous vertical jump.

Anton123ParticipantI just checked, yeah Dwight Howards rim was 12 ft.
He dunked it off the glass with two hands and it looked easy, why couldn’t he just do a 13 feet dunk with one hand for the sake of breaking the world record.
I’m pretty sure there are players (especially pro dunkers) that can do such a thing, why don’t they?

FritzParticipantHow tall is Young Hollwood? That guys got an insane verticle. But as for a 12 foot rim, I think there are a couple of people in the NBA who could do that or maybe even break that record right now. Howard got 12 pretty easily in my opinion I think he could get higher, Javalle Mcgee, that guy who know how high he can get. He doesnt have a crazy high verticle leap but his height and more importantly his wing span I feel like he would do very well in one of those competitions, that is if he doesnt try and think hes MJ and try and dunk from the free throw line again

Can you guys tell me how to post the videos directly to the forum? Im new here and dont know how to do that yet

Anton123ParticipantYoung hollywood is only 5-10, his vertical is about 50 inches
Switch to plain text editor and post the embed code, don’t forget to preview it to make sure
I think Justin Darlington A.K.A. Jus Fly has the ability to dunk in a rim around 14 feet high, the guy is 6-4 and easily touches the rim with his chin

FritzParticipantThat dunk at 1: 24 was insane. He just jumps over a person holding the ball as high as they can, grabs it, takes it under the legs, and then throws it down. Thats one of the best dunks Ive seen. It would be awesome if they allowed like 1 or 2 people who arent in the NBA to go against some NBA players in the dunk contest. That would never happen but if it did I bet some of these youtube dunkers would make our NBA dunk contestants look pretty mediocre, these guys have higher verticles and spend more practice on dunks im sure, but that would be a fun competition to watch. That would be awesome to do that with the NBA 3 point contest. Im sure there are some average Joes out there that just flat out dont miss wide open jump shots.

cabbycabParticipantAt 1:53 of Justin Darlington’s clip, he attempts Vince Carters first dunk in his only dunk contest. I’ve seen this dunk duplicated three or four times and no one has come close to doing it like quite like VC.
