For the 10-11 NCAA Division I season, there will be a new record of 40 Canadian players.

Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson are amongst the most prominent Canadians and will attend Texas together.

Stanford is loaded with Canadian talent, a guy that is being slept is Nastic who has a great load of talent, along with Ashton Khan all in one recruitment.

Emerson Murray is going to have a big chance to take the Pac-10 by storm as well with California.

The funny thing about these 40 Canadian players is that most of them are high-end recruitments who are expected to have careers in professional basketball. Canadian players dont usually get recruited unless they have somethintg special. I am probally going to be criitisized for saying this but half of those 40 players 20 have NBA potential. Canada’s talent is still not being fully utilized by the pro-basketball world and this year maybe the year that everyone realizes it. About an average of 1 or2 players on every division 1 NCAA basketball team has NBA potential, and at least 3/4’s of NCAA players are American. So about 1 in every 12 D-1 American players have NBA potential yet 1 in every 2 Canadian players have NBA Potential. That shows me that not enough Canadian players are getting scholarships by the NCAA and pro-basketball has yet to tap in fully on Canada’s talent.

Soon D-1 teams will notice this and there will be many more D-1 teams extending recruitment offers to Canadian player and not just our stars but our role players too.

    Im not Matt Fukcing Bonner!
