 Rashad McCants will soon turn 27 and still has enough talent to play professional basketball, but is not eager to continue his career.

“Basketball was an opportunity, a means to an end after college, and I planned not to solely depend on basketball, so the lockout doesn’t affect me – I have been locked out two years,’’ said McCants, who said he owns successful businesses. “I have been blackballed for two years, so these guys are making a big thing out of the lockout. They don’t know what locked out is.’’

McCants said he wants to be considered the “best player in the world not playing basketball’’ and is content if he doesn’t make an NBA return.

I have absolutely nothing against Rashad, was actually always a fan of his. The guy has a lot of game and is a great scoring guard. Still, to say you are "The best basketball player in the world not playing basketball", is like saying "I am the best f*cker in the world who is still a virgin". Must have so little satisfaction and gratification, what the hell would be the point in saying it?

I know, he has supposedly been blackballed from the league, but does that not tell you that you should maybe change something? Maybe, just maybe, not say things as ridiculous as what you just said? Maybe, just maybe, actually say, "I am playing basketball so I can show I can compete with the best basketball players in the world?" It is easy to be the best at something when you are not doing it. Any of us could be the best person not playing basketball, if we are, NOT PLAYING BASKETBALL!? LOL. Just, psycho talk, in my eyes.

Rashad, I feel for you man, maybe you have not been given a fair shake. Still, you were an undersized 2 guard who was incredibly one dimensional. You may indeed be an upgrade over someones back-up, but the odds are, you would not be happy doing so. Odds are, you could probably do really well overseas, but it seems like you have not made that an option. I wish you all the best, realize you have gone through a tough time the last couple of years, but it would be nice if you tried to compete with the best rather than taking yourself out of the race and giving yourself the gold medal.
