The interesting part is, The 2 years Jordan was chasing a baseball career instead, may cost him being the GOAT in the end. But I don’t see Lebron being able to win as well at an older age, too many good teams and talent these days. He barely got past the Pacers and Spurs so who knows. But I find this chart kind of silly because you could put a lot of people in that same way in the chart, Lebron isn’t the first one to match Jordan in his career arc. I think Shaq and Magic Johnson both started out with more, so I don’t think it really says anything about Lebron’s greatness unless you were just considering the similarities of their careers so far.

The Lebron “superteam” is blown out of proportion imo. So what if they wanted to play together what’s so bad about that. They wanted to win and thought what better way them to team up. Its not like they are just being handed titles don’t act that way and disregard their championships.

The players should not be told they don’t deserve their championships or that the organization doesn’t deserve the championships. Miami drafted Wade,developed him as a leader, won with him, and treated him the way you should treat a franchise player. Wade and James decided to form a “superteam” and bring Bosh along. Miami was smarter then Cleveland in deciding to clear all contracts to have this mega team. Miami has put good role players around these guys and won two out of three possible Championships.

If anything the whole decision thing,negative comments by the trio,and mainstream media have put bad taste in fans mouths. Either way these guys are Champions.

I think arguments like these are more of a generation thing than anything else. I can totally see in about 10 years these young 10-12 yr old kids playing basketball right now considering Lebron James as the GOAT. It happens all the time in sports, there’s always resistance from a past generation refusing to give up on the biggest sports idol of their time, and even relenquish the idea of someone being even close to better than he is. But until that time, the argument can (and always is) made for one or another. The fact of the matter is players continue to get bigger, faster and stronger with constant developments to conditioning. You have Facilities at the college level nowadays that are 3-4 times bigger and better than pro facilities you saw in the 90’s.

It’s really hard and unfair to compare the two, and I personally beleive the 2 would give each other fits if they were to ever have met up in their primes. However if you look at a competition stand point, I do beleive what Jordan did against all world big men was absolutely sensational. People forget that’s waht made him great. It was something we had never seen before from a wing player, he played in an era of bigs like Hakeem, Robinson, Malone, Ewing, Shaq etc. When all we really knew was a past of dominant big men winning you championships. Lebron has faced decent competition in the playoffs with this spurs team this season being by far his best. But unfortunately the easter conference, more notabely the bottom 5-8 for the last decade have been absolutely horrendous. He has gone up against more and defeated more perimeter oriented ball clubs, than paint pounding big men (the game has gone this way a little bit). But if you look at guys like Roy Hibbert, David West, and Joakim Noah giving this team trouble year in and year out its hard to imagine what they could accomplish against the bigs of the 90’s.
