The East didn’t lose LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, or Chris Bosh this summer, and they gained Amare Stoudemire(Knicks) and Carlos Boozer(Bulls), and it appears that the East will soon get Carmelo Anthony(most likely going to the Nets).

The East won the first three picks in the 2010 NBA draft-John Wall, Evan Turner, and Derrick Favors(but most likely will be traded to Denver). John Wall and Evan Turner will be playing in the East Coast for the forseeable future.

If it wasn’t for Kevin Durant, the West would really be lacking superstars. Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant are all on the wrong side of 30, and who knows what Pau Gasol will become after Kobe’s eventual retirement?

The West still has a lot of powerful teams(Lakers, Thunder, Mavericks, Blazers, Spurs, and Rockets), and those teams can all contend for a championship if everything goes well for them, but the era of complete Western dominance of the East is heading for an abrupt end, if it hasn’t gone extinct already.

Do you guys think that the power has shifted from West to East?

west is clearly still better then the east. But the east has aruably 3 of the top 4 teams in mia, boston, and orlando. And the depth is getting better as well. but top to bottom, the west still owns the east. People talk about milwaukee and atlanta being locks in the east, they would struggle to finish top 10 in the west.

idk bout that the west still has cp3 and dwilliams who are both superstars along with kd and add brandon roy, tyreke, russ westvbrook, eric gordon, blake griffin, oj mayo, rudy gay, steph curry, demarcus cousins…..i actually think the east has more superstars and are more top heavy but the west teams have more depth and more POTENTIAL superstars
