OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI was 3 months old when Hank died, but I still remember watching a movie on USA about him. It was very negligent for the LMU medical staff to let him continue to play after his first collapse. We can only wonder how great of a player he would’ve been in the NBA.

draftnikParticipantI was a couple weeks shy of being 3 mos. old when he died, so of course I don’t remember any games or moments in his career, but I remember ESPN Classic played a special about Gathers and 1990 LMU tourney run to the Elite 8 a few years back. The main reason I know so much about that is my dad told me that I was watching the LMU-Michigan game with him, when UofM was the defending national champs (and a favorite to get back to the Final Four), but Bo Kimble went off in that game and that tournament for that matter. Can’t believe 20 years flew by that fast. RIP Hank Gathers
