TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantBesides being volume shooters, prone to inefficiency and having a inflated belief in their abilities, how can you hate these guys?
Waiters

It gets funny at 1:45, and then later when Fred McLeod asks about Stephenson chirping at him.
Swaggy P doing a Kobe impersonation.

Anton123ParticipantThe Waiters hate is massive, there have been so many actual busts in the recent drafts and people acting like he was the worst pick ever.
You can genuinely get negged here for saying he isn’t terrible. Meanwhile all the announcers really like him and everybody around the NBA is only saying nice things.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantpractices. Like top 5 young player there killing it.
You are so right, it’s like the Cavs drafted Thomas Robison, Austin Rivers, Jan Vessly, Otto Porter, Bismack Biyoumbo, Jimmer Fredette, Derrick Williams, Brandon Knight or Meyers Leonard with that lottery pick.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI would take Bennett over all those jokers though. He is fat/in shape, has an excellent shot/makes none, has a good handle/little confidence in it, the perfect stretch 4, rebounder/ undersized, poor defender. Only dunks and 3’s (metric gold)/PER of 2 (metric feces), wide body and low base/terrible in the post, a 3/4, quick but slow.
He is the perfect oxymoron as all prospects. How can one man encompass all of these traits?
I still would take him over anyone but Dipo, Giannis, Ben Mc, MCW. He would still be my fifth pick based on eyeball test of his abilities and potential.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI wish he would show it more but I know it’s hard with the public beating he’s taking.
I hope he opens up more and embraces the Fat Mamba nickname. We can’t forget he is just a kid.

LindseyParticipantI played college ball for a guy who was an assistant for the canadian jr team, and i used to ask him about all these new canadian guys coming up. He said Bennett had a pretty shitty work ethic…and bennett was the only guy he had a negative comment on, so i feel it must have been pretty bad.
and youre right about the oxymoron thing….probably shows how important confidence and mental intagibles are to success at elite levels.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantRobinson went to a talent hell in Sacramento, he didn’t develop there and Houston didn’t give him minutes. Porter hasn’t even played yet, how is he a bust? Is McCollum a bust?

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI don’t think anyone is a bust. Considering someone a bust to me means that they didn’t live up to expectations that are based in guesses. The arch in which a under 24 year old athletes (or adults in general) progression is going to take is an unknown, that takes inductive reasoning and inference, which are great but not to be taken as fact.
If you are a GM, your job is to do just that, but if your me you realize that if someone doesn’t live up to "your expectations then it reflect poorly on your ability to judge in the first place". It may mean that someone didn’t work hard but thats up in the air and again is for the most part unknown.
I happen to think those guys are not to good at NBA basketball and are likely to stay that way for a while, not busts.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantI wasn’t replying to anything you said. I was replying to someone who posted busts, and used Otto Porter Jr and Thomas Robinson as examples. I like your posts, and you made a good point.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI think you’re confusing people disliking someone’s game with disliking them as a person.
Lord knows I wouldn’t want Dion Waiters on my team but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. He could be the funniest and funnest person to go out on a night on the town and there is no way of knowing that but I still wouldn’t want him in a Rockets uniform.

Bmore_DCParticipantWhy wouldn’t u want Waiters on your team? As a 6th man he would fit perfect on the Rockets…? I’m confused.
0- Posted on: Wed, 01/08/2014 - 9:07pm #861076

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantBecause Jeremy Lin is outplaying him as the 4th/5th option whereas Waiters is the 2nd option.
