Hey NOw!! Former TrailBlazer Legend Greg Oden has signed with a team in China.. The former number 1 overall pick reportedly had offers from at least 6 nba teams.. I’m eager to see what type of numbers he puts up over there.. Teams in the CBA are nown to gear their offense to American players… Hopefully Oden can play well enough to get a contract from a nba team before the playoffz …I can’t upload the link from this government phone!!

Thats actually a really smart move for Oden. He gets to come in and play rightnaway instead of riding the bench in the NBA.

If he can stay healthy and get hia form back he might go Hassan Whiteside at some point.

Smart move if he wants to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair…

No team doctor in America would clear him to play. He tried to make a brief comeback and his knees were killing him despite playing almost no minutes.

Greg Oden is an Alcoholic who beats women. I’m not rooting for him.

He should retire, attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and rehab his knee in the hydro pool. Maybe start a business and do offfice work.

But stay off those weak knees and stay off the booze…

While his actions of beating women and his drinking are not acceptable, I would be surprised if he did not have issues with depression.  The guy went from a sure-fire bonafide superstar prospect who many projected as being the best big man we would see for the next 30 years to being told he could not play anymore.

I am not saying that his actions are acceptable, clearly they are not, but a deeper understanding of what might have triggered that behavior could allow us to be more understanding of his journey and why he is going to the CBA and not hanging up the shoes quite yet.  I am personally rooting for him.

What kind of medical advice is this guy getting?

Im not a doctor….but surely its time for him to take up a sport like cycling or swimming that puts less impact on his lower limbs.

Hes got the rest of his life ahead of him.

No one wants to be told they cant do something….but hes going to re injure himself…and for what? There is almost no chance he can play a full season of basketball in my opinion.

Poor dude caught some bad breaks but if I had a list of top 10 guys who need to retire…Odens #1.

But seriously though, if he’s healthy…

He’d ideally average about 21.8/12.8/2.8b over an 8+ game schedule in the CBA.

    Healthy!

Greg kept sitting out seasons to hope to recover and is now talking about returning to the NBA in 2016 but there must come a time where he has to consider whether he can really make another legit shot at the NBA or not.

He has had terrible luck with injuries down the years and I’ve always hoped we’d see him sound and back playing in the NBA.
