Greek player Dimitrios Agravanis that I have talked about here a few times before should be in the mock draft lists.

For example, I see now people here talking about Sabonis and how great he is and yet Agravanis is better than him. So then why should Sabonis be considered a first round pick and Agravanis should not even be listed in the mocks at all?

Is the anti Greek bias never going to stop?

Even after I was proven right here about Papanikolaou, Antetokounmpo brothers, and yes so you know all those other Greek players I talked about too like Pappas, Sloukas, Giankovits, etc. that proved they are good players in the biggest clubs in Europe – something most of the players drafted in their class could not have done and now are nowhere near that level.

And of course, I will be proven right again soon on Papagiannis.

So now I make the point here about Agravanis, as this same type of thing continues to happen over and over. Greek players that are better than other European players and American players just keep getting ignored and passed over for no reason.

Just like how Papapetrou was not drafted last year for no logical reason at all when he should have been. They took players that are not as good and not as talented as him (several of them) right from the same Eurocamp he was at last year for no logical reason.

So the same thing again comes now with Agravanis as he clearly shows to be better than many players in these mock drafts and yet his name is nowhere on them.

Even after this Greek bias keeps getting proved wrong it still keeps going…….So now you have Giannis in NBA, Calathes in NBA, Koufos in NBA, Papanikolaou in NBA, Thanasis will be there soon, also I hear that Bramos has some offers to try the NBA when he recovers from his injury also…

But still with all those Greek players in NBA the same ideas come every year at draft time and are always in these mock drafts – "Greeks can’t play in NBA".

So what is explanation for what Agravanis is not in these mock lists?

He is only 19 and if he was an American he would be like a college sophomore, but he is already a good contributor in one of the biggest Euroleague teams. It’s very rare that ever happened in recent years. Just go through list of all the players drafted from Europe in recent memory and the only one on many years that was playing a role in a big Euroleague club at 19 was Rubio, but he was playing absolutely terrible the whole time, while Agravanis actually plays quite good. So what he is doing in his age is actually unheard of really in many years.

But….not even mentioned for a mock.

Here he is this season at age 19 in YouTube:

You also hyped Anselmodoulos Varmandilis and Herodoto Pankalamfous. They turned out to be massive busts.

The explantation? Probably because the people that run this site are in America and focus mostly on the prospects in this country while looking at the few handful of highly touted international prospects.

People get overlooked all the time, Steph Curry was only a 3 star in high school and passed over by top programs and landed at a small school in Davidson.

I’m sure if these guys are as good as you say they are they will make their way into the league.

Also Calathes was born and raised in America so that’s kinda a stretch and Kofus is an average player at best, who was once considered a #1 pick long ago so ya. Also Ginnias, while a lot of potential and lots of people love him, still hasn’t done diddly squat to label him as some great player.

I never said anything about them being great players. I said they were good enough to play in the NBA, which was being attacked by 90% of people here in this forum, and in case of Antetokounmpo almost all when I first mentioned him…when I first mention him here I was mocked and laughed at and ridiculed very hard for a very long time.

And you can pretend that is not true but it is. So changing this to "calling them some great players", which I have NEVER done is just more trolling. In fact, it just is more proof of this NBA in what I said about Papanikolaou all along. Good enough to play in NBA, but very overrated, because somehow people in USA got this idea he was some superstar in Europe, when he was never anything more than a role player that can do nothing really but shoot some open jumpers and make hustle plays and things like that. But still good enough for NBA.

Which is what I said all along, and all those things I said about him as examples (he was just a role player, yet good enough for NBA got me HUGE criticism here also). I can go on and on.

So please stop trying to make revisonist history here.

The main issue for most people on this site is probably that you seem to suggest that you ‘know’ how good these Greek players will be five years from now and that they can make it to the NBA… which is basically the same as the majority of scouts and commentators do anyway. I like your posts about these unknown Greek players, but I would like you to mention a little bit more their main strenghts and weaknesses (if there are any 😉 ).

But I am not saying that they will be in NBA. I never make such claims. I am saying that based on how good they are they SHOULD be in NBA, but they will most probable not get the chance because for some strange reason NBA does not like Greek players.

Which owner of this site admitted that in NBA circles there is a belief for some reason that the players from Greece are  lazy and do not want to practice or work hard and that they just want to lay around all day on the beach. And that because of that generally no matter how good they might be, most of them will never be considered by NBA.

I really cannot understand this mentality as for example, Serbian coach Obradovic, who is considered one of greatest European coaches ever said Diamantidis and Spanoulis (Greek players) were the hardest working players he ever coached. same coach that coached players like sabonis, Bodiroga, etc. And Ivkovic the Serbian coach, also considered one of greatest European coaches ever (Nuggets offered him their head coach job, but he did not want it) said Spanoulis was hardest working player he ever saw.

Yet I have heard how Spanoulis was too lazy to make it in NBA and that he would not work hard enough for levels of NBA, etc. This is obvious nonsense because many NBA players came to Europe and said European standards of practice and training is much harder than in the NBA. So how can this be? There is some kind of definite bias here and some kind of BS that exists from NBA to Greek players.

Every year they ae drafting so many players from Europe that are worst than ones from Greece, and it happens over and over every year. So the point I am making is just that why is it that so many of these Greek players always do not get drafted, when worst ones from other European countries every year get drafted? Like if they are French or Turkish or from a Yugo country they will get drafted no matter what if they have just shown any level of ability at any time, but a Greek player could have dominated at all levels for many years and he will not be drafted. This happens over and over for years.

I give examples, then I show here despite being attacked here, and over time I am proven right. Also when I bring certain examples I say now how come this certain player NBA has never heard of. Remember NBA never even heard of Antetokounmpo until I began posting about him here. They can claim whatever they want, but this is truth. No one from NBA had ever even heard of him until I began posting about him. How can such things be true?

They like to make this into stories that he was "unkown" and "no one ever heard of him". But in Greece he was very well known and actually he had teams from Spanish league and top Greece league and Euroleague scouting him for some time. So that is all BS and it is all made up.

Of course the nonsense about "Greek second division is like high school level" never ended and no matter how much I said this was not true I was ridiculed for that and all that was claimed in US, even to draft night ESPN said it was equal to 8th grade level in USA.

Same way I start posting here about Papagiannis and no one in USA has heard of him before….how? How can you not know about him? Point is that if Papagiannis was playing in Spain he would already have had been probably on ESPN at that time with some coverage in USA or whatever talking about him, but he was from Greece so no one ever heard of him.

Every time I mention these players I get ridiculued but why? Notice if anyone mentions American player or Spanish player or Lithuanian player or whatever there is no ridicule? Why is it only that some player from Greece automatically could not play in NBA?

And even when I am proven right now in all these things I said and predictions I made here, still when I mention a new player the same insults and ridicule come every time.

The only thing different now is it used to be 100 posts saying things like "no Greek can play n NBA", "Greeks can’t play in NBA". Those posts are going away now. But why did such posts even exist to begin with?

And I have made many extensive posts about all the players I talk about. About everything about them, and every time I would do that, I would get attacked very hard. So I just gave up doing it, because every time I did it, I would get attacked more than ever.

Because if I said something like, "this player is athletic", I would get 50 responses back like, "no Greek has athletic ability" or "all Greek are non athletic stiffs that cannot run or jump", etc. So why even bother?
