I have mixed feelings about this story and to be honest it’s just kind of confusing. I mean it’s great that he wants to help out a teammate but I hope he realizes that him being on the court is what is keeping Nick on the bench. Nick getting extra playing time in the preseason doesn’t change his role. This just makes me question Areans’s head. He comes off as such an innocent fun loving guy or in recent time a serious professional, but the guy is just so sketchy and seems to be hiding so much and putting up a fake wall. It might just be preseason but faking an injury is serious especially since he knows that the team takes it serious when he has knee soreness considering his history with surgeries. So what’s stopping him from just complaining of knee soreness during the year when he doesn’t feel like playing since knee soreness is something the trainers take the players word for since it’s not something that can be seen structurally. If he wanted Nick to get more playing time he could have just approached Flip about Nick getting more time in the preseason. Faking an injury is not only unprofessional but it further expands the alienation he has created with the franchise.

Gilbert I understand your position, your ultra nice guy with a similar demeneur to myself. I understand that the money and all the basketball games mean nothing to you without friendship, but let me ask you this who is really your friend. Who will really stick by you. You are continually getting used, this is a business you can put in your suggestions but at the end of the day you must go to work. Further abuse to your kindness cost you some money, and apparently an affair with shaq. You know ladies dont like nice guys….tough up and take a course with marbury and allen iverson. Everybody is paid, nick young will get his chance whenever or if ever the opportunity comes. This is your life your kids that you are dealing with. Gilbert be funny but me mean…..I WANT TO CALL YOU THE JOKER FROM NOW ON……Funny but still will kick ur ……. So lets get older and be a role model, he will get minutes during the year, you are not a coach.

I’m watching Gils apology and I just don’t get it. He says he just wanted to do the right thing and it’s the media blowing things out of proportion. If that’s the case, why tell people right after the game that you were faking the injury? If all that mattered was Nick getting pt why not fake your njury and leave it at that?
