McDunkinDeparting Arkansas Razorbacks scorer Rotnei Clarke has begun constructing a list of potential transfer destinations, starting with a visit "later this week" to see the Butler Bulldogs, as he told CBS Sports’ Jeff Goodman. Clarke also lists the Virginia Cavaliers and Oklahoma Sooners as possible landing spots — Clarke is originally from Oklahoma.
Wherever he ends up, Clarke’s new coaching staff will have to hope he’s happier than he was throughout his career at Arkansas. Even before Mike Anderson took over in Fayetteville/Little Rock/whichever other cities Hogs athletics claims, Clarke had been displeased enough to ask for a release after his sophomore year. He also asked again after his junior year before John Pelphrey was fired.
One school we may be able to scratch off his list: Clarke told Goodman he has no plans to visit the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
(Fellow Arkansas transfer Jeff Peterson has already chose Florida State as his next school)

Cardinal_FanParticipantI like the fit at Butler, he’s a undersized 2 with a high IQ who brings high major experience to a rebuilding Butler team. They have a decent big man who i believe is a 7 footer not to mention a great coach. I think he would thrive in their system. At the other schools i think he could possibly get lost in the shuffle.

Memphis MadnessParticipantRotnei Clarke needs to go to Butler like Cj says. Butler is a team now with good name recognitionClak and Brad Stevens is a great coach. Clarke can pattern his game off of Shelvin Mack and if he does well I think he will get drafted. Clarke could end up being the focal point of the offense and might turn into a poor man’s Jimmer. … Clarke already has one 50 point game on his resume and should flourish with great coaching.
