kong47272ParticipantThe Pacer’s have been working on a sign-and-trade to send M. Daniels to the Celtics, but now there are rumors floating around that TJ Ford may be sent to the Celtics as well.

Doesn’t seem to make a lot of since to me for either team;
The Celtics will have Rondo and Ford all at PG
The Pacer’s would be clearing cap space but would be left with a PG rotation of Earl Watson, Diener, and Tinsley (who is banished from the team).
*Edit* Sorry I thought there were still talks going on about a Starbury return to Boston

R-Dot-13Participantmy guess is that if he is traded to boston, he may be a part of a deal with rondo?

ckowalskiParticipantMaybe the Pacers are trying to get Ray Allen? Ainge was rumored to be offering up Allen this offseason. It could be Marquis Daniels and TJ Ford to Boston and Ray Allen to the Pacers. The salaries work on trade machine. (I used Tinsley’s salary instead of Daniels. They have comparable salaries and I can’t include Daniels in the trade since the Pacers didn’t pick up his option.) Pacers could use a shooter to pair with Granger but I still don’t know what they would do about a PG. Just my 2 cents on this anyways?

R-Dot-13ParticipantI dont get what the Celtics would do with both Ford and Rondo though, both good starting PGs..

ckowalskiParticipantNeither do I but since the Celtics are going to get Daniels anyways…. maybe Ford as a change of pace off the bench? I agree he is good enough to be a starter but I see Rondo and Ford as bringing similar skill sets to the table so I’m not really sure why this rumor is starting in the first place, unless Rondo is on his way out. I think Ford is quicker and has a better jump shot than Rondo, but Rondo is stronger and is a better finisher and defender. Both are excellent passers and can run the break well, good court vision.
