Apparently it went really well. They really liked him as a person, especially. Reminds me of what people said last year about Jonny Flynn. I hope we’re building a bball team, not just a bunch of nice guys. I still hope the Wolves pick Cousins and then trade down to get Wes.

I’m pretty sure the Wolves will take Wesley unless they can make a move sometime before the draft and move up to get Turner. After the draft lottery where their pick went from a potential #1 or #2 to a disappointing #4, I figured that that would force them to make a trade(one involving either Love or Al Jeff). They really covet Turner, but now it seems more likely that they are just going to settle with Johnson and see if any teams contact them about a possible trade scenario. Overall, it’s not a terrible pick, however I would like to see them get their man (Turner) or take Cousins (doing which would seemingly mean that they plan to trade Love or Jefferson).

to all Wolves fans, As a Kings fan let me tell you, ending up with the fourth pick can end up being pretty damn good haha. i can definitely see wes being a stud. reminds a little bit of tayshaun prince but much more athletic.

I can tell you that the fifth pick will be as good for you this year as the fourth pick was for you last year if the Wolves take Wes Johnson at pick 4. Cousins is easily the projected BPA, attitude and all. To take Wes Johnson over him straight up would be like waving a giant Fail Flag.

    Chad Ford knows nothing.

I agree with that (Ford knows nothing). But it is what it is. I don’t think he’s lying that the workout went well. We did pick a nice guy last year too (Flynn)

I imagine the workout went well, but the Wolves will not be selecting him outright, I swear that guy makes up rumors.

There’s a couple of different reasons Kahn took Flynn last year, he still had McHale’s personnel cronies on staff that were his only help in the Draft, and how do you trust a staff that traded Roy for Foye, took Brewer over Noah, and took McCants over Granger along with many other bonehead moves. He also didn’t have a Coach to help create the identity of team they wanted to assemble. He now has Ronzone, his own personnel guy, and a Coach in Rambis to help identify what kind of team they want to be. Unless Wes Johnson develops an NBA caliber handle overnight he will not be selected outright by the Wolves at 4.
