All this talk of Simmons boycotting workouts with Philly reminds me of a story printed by Yahoo earlier in the year. It just goes to show that the 76ers have already been vicims of players being with held due to their perilous situation. Extract below:

Miller didn’t make it easy for Philadelphia to draft Porzingis at No. 3. The Sixers wouldn’t be afforded Porzingis’ physical, nor get a private workout, nor even a face-to-face meeting. After most of the pro day executives cleared out of the gym in Vegas in mid-June, 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie lingered to meet with Miller. Hinkie stopped him in the lobby area and asked Miller about a chance to sit down and visit with Porzingis.

“You said that I would get a meeting with him here,” Hinkie told Miller.

“I said, ‘I’d try,’ and it’s not going to work out, Sam,” Miller responded.

I truly believe that if Porzingis worked out with Philly, provided his medical records and had interviews, that they would have selected him. We will never know, but the term "Porzingis type workouts" are now synonomous for any bigman that blows teams away.

I just want to know what 76ers fans think of the story….

Can you imagine a Simmons, Porzingis, Embiid, Saric Frontcourt?

    PG – Ish Smith

SG- Stauskas (or whoever they select at 24/26)

    SF -Simmons

    PF – Porzingis

    C- Embiid

    6th Man – Noel

    7th Man- Saric

Whar could of been……I know Hinkie was enaomered with Porzingis for years….it would allow Simmons to operate like a SF since KP can stretch the floor and they wouldn’t be in this Okafor predicament where they have to sell him for pennies on the dollar….I however have never been a big Okafor fan.
