This mornings Minneapolis paper says that the trade will take place on Saturday and will have Minnesota receiving Wiggins, Bennett, Young, and a trade exception of 4 million (or more). Cleveland will get Love. Philly will get the Miami first, Shved, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

I like the trade for Philly. Yea they take on salary for a likely 15-22 pick but they can use the proven bodies. LRMAM is a solid vet who can school their newly drafted wing players while getting solid minutes and Shved is a young vet who should fit well as a shooter . They needed the  bodies and probably the salary to hit salary minimum. I’m not a huge fan of the super patient rebuild but this is another solid move. These contracts won’t matter by the time they are contenders again.

Love it for Minny. I think Bennett is going to be a good player down the road as a stretch 4. They get Thad to school him some and get the gem(IMO) of the deal in Wiggins. He can take the franchise on his back but has Thad to fall back on a bit as an established leader who can get you 15-18ppg. It’s a good situation.

Cleveland isn’t a loser in the deal but I’ll always wonder what if. They will certainly be contenders the next 6 years or so. I need to see them in a playoff setting before I call them favorites though.

Luc is a solid locker room guy and very close with Embiid and should help as a mentor.  Shved has talent if he can regain confidence and a mid-late 1st for a guy who isn’t going to be around past this year and doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild.  Nothing wrong with that.

Minny ?  Great deal.  Getting 3 players for a guy who would have been in town 1 more year.  Please – the steal of the Century

Luc Richard is the guy who discovered Joel Embiid and his mentor. Great pickup for Philly as far as the development and adjustment to the NBA for Embiid, plus he really D’s up.

Cleveland is the big winner, let’s not kid ourselves. They just landed a guy who averaged 26 and 13 to join an already stellar cast

For real. Most good rookies like Durant for example, don’t have a real impact on +- until there third season at least, and let’s be honest Wiggins is no Durant. Love makes Cleveland the most talented team in the league.

Philly gets something for Thad; a still young prospect in Shved, a mentor in LRMAM, and a 1st rounder. Both Luc and Shved are on one year deals if they don’t figure in the 76’ers long term plans.

Cleveland gets one of the top 10 players in the league, who is still only 25.

Minnesota gives more than it gets, but given that Love said he was leaving this is the best Minny was realistically going to do. Bennett is still young and could develop. Wiggins has a world of potential and his floor should be as a solid starter. Thad helps with some scoring and is a pretty decent defender. Maybe Thad even decides to stick around. The trade exception should come in useful.

I believe that Wiggins could be a Durant. Definitely not his height, but if he works more on his jumper, then he could be as good as KD

T-Wolves have added a lot of depth – Thad Young is no way K-Love but he gives Flip Saunders a very durable mid teen point scorer and it helps fill K-Love’s minutes right off. Bennett should get minutes to prove himself and we all know Wiggins’ potential.

Cavs get K-Love – Proven All Star no more to say on that.

Philly take a salary dump put Hinkie gets a pick which helps with the rebuild. I never knew LRMAM discovered Embiid so that is a good extra to have in the trade.

runs a basketball camp in Cameroon, and Embiid was one of his campers. LRMAM helped Embiid find a US college. So, they have a bit of history together.

I have to give it to flip. He played this like a champ. I never liked the idea of dropping Bennett before you kicked the tires on him. Without hearing more deals I don’t like the idea of the direction he is taking things however. The middle is not the place to aspire to be

When Alexi Shved began his career with the Wolves it looked as if he could be a solid player.   Since that time he played scared and has lacked confidence and it isn’t any coaches fault.  As a rookie I witnessed young kids asking Alexi for his autograph and he refused saying in a sad tone that nobody wants his autograph.

It was a solid deal for philly, beat i reallt thought they could get a bit more for Thad. Contenders would love a vet like thad who could stretch the floor, swipe the ball, drive it, and pass it. Reallly thought they could’ve gotten Bennett for him. Maybe also could’ve got rid of K-mart or Barea’s contract for him.

Bennett had to go to make deals balance and I’d assume that Flip would not want to junk a top pick without taking a good look at him. Bennett was a highly touted college guy who had  very much stop start/write off first season but we all had him high on our mocks last year so he doesn’t become a bad player overnight. Flip would at least want to work with him to see what he can do and I really like how Flip effectively turned the pick due into Thad Young.

I’d assume that Flip had Thad in mind once the Cavs came calling and Hinkie took the bait. With Philly in rebuild it makes sense for them to maybe move Thad Young and if we assume he will opt in for $9.7 million in 2015/16 then Sam Hinkie has cleared cap space to take another salary dump in due course and maybe get another pick. Plus LRMAM has an expiring 2014/15 deal and is an elite defender so a contender could well come calling for him fairly soon, hence Hinkie maybe gets another asset.

I’ve never been a fan of tanking but Hinkie is playing the long game and is stockpiling picks and we maybe have to write off this year and see where the 76ers are next season. With MCW, Noel, Embiid and another high pick likely to come next summer you suddenly have a nice core, add in all the other picks too and Saric to come over in due course and suddenly the Hinkie big piture starts to make sense.
