high floorParticipantAs a way to connect and get to know the guys and girls on this forum better, I thought it would be fun to post and briefly describe who some of our favorite NBA players currently are in the game. Surprisingly, if I were asked who a lot of the long-time posters on this site’s favorite players were, I wouldn’t know where to begin. And I’m on here nearly every day. It’s August, let’s open things up a little!
Favorite retired player: Anfernee Hardaway
- Unbelievble combination of size, speed, court awarenes, and scoring ability.
- Underrated defender, capable of guarding multiple positions.
- One of the more humble superstars to play the game.
- Unfortunately one of the all-time "what if" players due to injuries.
Favorite Vet (Still playing): Manu Ginoboli
- Able to postively affect the game for his teammates in so many ways.
- An all-time crafty players.
- Sacrificed his stats for the good of the organization. Easilly could have averaged 20+ if he left San Antonio and took a starters role earlier in his career.
Favorite player currently (or approaching) his prime: Jimmy Butler
- He plays his guts out every game.
- Skills are still evolving, able to uncover a new wrinkle to his game each year.
- Takes pride in shutting his man down defensively.
Favorite Rookie (2015 NBA Draft): Mario Hezonja
- Supremely confident in his talent
- Wants to put every player on a poster
- Seems like the kind of guy who could miss 10 threes in a row, but make the game winner

SmooveKRYPTParticipantRetired: T-Mac
unstoppable scorer, elite athlete, gifted passer, one of the smoothest to ever grace the court.
Vet: KG
Leader, warrior, all-around 2-way beast, one of the most intense players we’ll ever see.
Prime: KD
Health permitting he could break the all-time scoring record. once in a generation talent, great teammate above all.
2015 Rookie: Emmanuel Mudiay
creative passer, flashy but still makes the right play, great in the pick-n-roll.

IndianaBasketballParticipantFavorite retired player: Reggie Miller
- Loyal to the city and the Pacers his entire career, despite opportunities to go to bigger markets.
- One of the most clutch players in NBA history.
- Extremely competitive and could take his game up several notches on the biggest stages.
Favorite Vet (Still playing): David West
- He’s no longer a Pacer, but I love what he brought to the franchise and most importantly the city. He and his wife were huge in the community. He’s a real leader, both on and off of the court.
- He brought a toughness to the Pacers and played a huge role in mentoring the young guys.
Favorite player currently (or approaching) his prime: Paul George
- He’s a two way star, who’s an absolute stud defensively. He can lock down 3 positions defending both on and off of the ball. I don’t know another defender that’s as great as him at making himself "skinny" and getting around picks/screens.
- He has amazing work ethic and gets better every season.
- He brings excitement to the city and makes it fun to attend games.
Favorite Rookie (2015 NBA Draft): Myles Turner
- *Amazing* character
- I believe that the Pacers got the steal of the draft. Big men with his length, shooting, shot blocking and just overall skill set are rare. He reminds me of LaMarcus Aldridge, but actually uses his length to block shots. The Pacers and Turner are a perfect match. He’s going to develop into a star.
- Defense. He has great length and has excellent timing blocking shots.

Rip255Man I been watching Joe Ingles play Pro Ball for 10 years. How u gonna tell me he’s not a vet.
Maybe he’s not an NBA Veteran, but he’s played in Europe, Olympics too. He was basically brought in to babysit Dante Exum with his veteran presence….yet Utah found out he was actually good and kept him around.

SkalAndJamalParticipantHere’s my answer in starting lineup form
C| Shaquille O’Neal(retired)
F| Carmelo Anthony(Vet)
F| Andrew Wiggins(Prime)
G| Latrell Sprewell(Retired)
G| D’Angelo Russell(Rookie)
Shaq— the King Kong that protected Staples Center for so long.
Carmelo— won’t find a guy who is that strong and can shoot and handle the ball like he can.
Wiggins— He’s a different dude, already talking about wanting to stay in Minny
Latrell— Didn’t back down from anybody.
D’Angelo— People are already writing him off cause of summer league, guess y’all just have to learn.

ChoppyParticipantRetired: Grant Hill – was the first superstar player I really followed. Also helped he was from my favourite team (Pistons).
Veteran: Tim Duncan – love the Big Fundamental. To do what he’s done for as long as he’s done it? Guy is a legend.
Prime: Anthony Davis – Dude is a freak. Nothing he can’t do.
Rookie – Stanley Johnson – bit of a homer pick (was gonna go with Mario) but Johnson has grown on me. I’m really intrigued as to how he’ll go.

Toronto16ParticipantRetired – Allen Iverson – Sad where his life has ended up, but as a player there was nobody more electric, more must see than Iverson. He was a warrior on the court, never complained about injuries and always gave 110 percent.
Vet – Vince Carter – As a Raptors fan he was the reason I fell in love with basketball.
Prime – Kevin Durant – Freak of nature, amazing skill set. If I was an NBA player I’d want to be just like Kevin Durant.
Rookie – Emmaual Mudiay – Read about his story and immediately became a fan. His journey to the US then to the NBA is remarkable.

ballislyfe25ParticipantRetired – Hakeem Olajuwon. Incredibe skill (ballhandling, shooting, POST MOVES) and athleticism for a center and he has played against many of the best bigs; Kareem, Shaq, Duncan/Robinson, Ewing, etc. Have to believe he would be even more effective in today’s game.
Veteran – Zach Randolph. So many 20/10 years and has his head on straight in Memphis becoming a beloved player and team leader. His throwback game is effective and he is one of the true players who can combat "small-ball" with his strength, skill, and toughness. It’s refreshing to see a guy with virtually no hops or "athleticism" constantly outduel the Blake Griffins, Serge Ibakas, and modern day big men.
Prime – Kevin Durant. Followed him closely since his high school days and he has lived up to the hype and more. If he comes back close to full strength, the Thunder are my pick to win the West. However, I would like to see him add more of a post game and get more efficient shots, and there’s a good possibility with that under Billy Donovan.
Rookie – D’Angelo Russell. Like his shooting stroke and passing ability. Interested to see how he pans out over the next few years in LA.

festar35ParticipantRetired – Reggie Miller, I just loved the way he played. So skinny but man was he aggressive and a fantastic shooter which always keeps me interested. Reason I am a Pacers fan.
Veteren – Dirk Nowitzki, whilst Indiana struggled I invested a lot of time in Dallas and loved following Dirk, he has changed the game in what a big man can do and he is just a fantastic player.
Prime – Paul George, he gets massive bonus points for being on the Pacers, but love his game as well and hope to see him back as his old self pre-injury. Really a fan of two-way players and think he still has a chan e to be the best two-way player in the NBA.
Rookie – Myles Turner, again a Pacer, but he seems like an incredible person and is demeanour is iut of this world for a 19 year playing elite sports. Love his game as well, as he can shoot and has ability to protect the rim as well.

thaprodigyParticipantRetired • Allen Iverson/T-Mac | AI was 6’0 165 & somehow managed to be elite, SC top 10 play coming whenever they were on the court.
Vet • KG/Pierce – Ticket’s got that warrior mentality & carried Minnesota all those years before eventually winning in Boston. Gives 150% every time he’s on the court. As Paul Pierce has grown older he’s made a smooth transition into being role player while showing he’s still indeed The Truth.
Prime • Kevin Durant/Westbrook – KD’s just smooth man, the jumper, the handle for his size. Makes it look easy like T-Mac. Russell plays with such anger & ferocity, that not too many have these days
Rookie • Delon Wright – Didn’t graduate HS, went JuCo for 2 years in San Fran & was one of the best players in the nation the past 2 years. Big versatile guard that should see minutes in Toronto with Vasquez being shipped out.

Retired: Penny Hardaway, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajuwon, Tracy McGrady, Brandon Roy

Stephen A. BaylessParticipantThe Admiral- as far as size, length, skills, IQ probably the perfect center.
Dirk- Leader, Champion, Winner (Those attributes are often overlooked about him)
Steph Curry- Fellow North Carolinian, big fan since the Davidson days.
Kristaps Porzingis- A truly intriguing prospect. Immense potential on both ends of the floor.

HeroescantdieParticipantRetired: Brandon Roy = I feel he should’ve won a division title for Portland with Aldridge and Batum back then, Larry Johnson on Hornets team is a beast, an undersized 4 and strong 3, first combo forward in the 90’s with monster numbers in Charlotte.
Veteran: Paul Pierce = Athletecism is not the primary requirement for the HOF
Current: Anthony Davis = He’s like an alien. Nobody like him.
Rookie: Emmanuel Mudiay = I think he remind me so much of Tyreke Evans. I love Tyreke in his Rookie season but I’m not saying Mudiay will be that good. I want to play him on nba 2k16 lol
