qDizzle32ParticipantSo as I was watching the ESPNU Midnight Madness special last night, I saw Jay Williams list his Top 5 PG’s in the nation. As I saw Keifer Sykes’ name, I was like, I haven’t even heard of that guy before. So then I went on YouTube and looked up his stats. I was absolutely blown away by his talents, jumps outta the gym, could definitely even compete in the NBA’s dunk contest, shoots really well and even looked like a good distributor as he averaged 6 assists last year. Also very young for his class as well (Senior born in December of 1993). Despite the fact that he is only 6 feet tall, I can see a lot coming out of this guy, as far as potential goes. Could he end up in the same boat as other small school players we have seen in recent years? I had never even heard of Damian Lillard until halfway until his last season in college, never heard of CJ McCollum until after Leigh upsetted Duke in the NCAA Tournament nor had I ever heard of Elfrid Payton prior to his invite to the USA U19 Team last year. I’m actually really hoping to at least see some Wisconsin-Green Bay games this year cuz I really wanna see if Keifer Sykes can actually be that next guy coming from a small school to the pros. http://youtu.be/zbSL4ImXyU8 http://youtu.be/X_297TbN220

JoeWolf1He reminds me of Pierre Jackson. I’m not sure if he’s enough of a point guard, or really big enough to be a major player in the NBA, but I certainly think he has a chance to make it in the league as a scoring minded reserve combo guard.
He’d be making waves if he played in a major conference too, I first heard of him when he hung 32 on Wisconsin last year.

RUDEBOY_Participanthe’s not in the class of lilliard, payton or mccollum..
but this season if he can hit outside shots more consistently ,he might hear his name called somewhere in the middle to late 2nd round..if he goes undrafted someone will pick him up,he’s too talented not to find his way into someone’s roster next fall..
he’s a good ball handler,great athlete,pesky defender,explosive,strong,fearless and he’s a good passer…

stealsgaloreParticipantI think Pierre Jackson is a great comparison and if Jackson gets a chance to play this year and plays well it could really help Sykes’s stock. I know Jackson was stuck behind a lot of guards and never got a chance to play last year. Is anyone aware of his contract situation this year?
I really like this guy and he had some of his best games of the season against the top competition. As mentioned his jump shot consistency is holding him back from becoming a Nate Robinson type spark plug in the league.

JoeWolf1Torn achilles, out for the year. He hurt it playing Summer League ball for the 76ers, and has been waived but retained 400 K from his contract with Philly. He’ll have to wait until next year to get a chance, it’s a bad break because he was in the perfect place to essentially get an audition in the NBA and try to prove he can have a career.
