 I love what Evan Turner did in  Boston  and I’m glad he got paid but this is a bad fit.  He was successful in Boston hecause he was able to play with the ball in his hands.  His awful 3pt shooting percentage will let his defender sag on Lillard or McCollum drives.

I actually think this is a really nice piece for the blazers. 4 years at 17.5 million per sounds extreme but on the market this year, its really not excessive. Especially when you effectively have to overpay guys to get above the league minimum payroll. Also, I think more than anything this year’s playoffs showed that players with glamour and finesse may be overrated, and that guys with length, versatility, and grit are underrated. Evan Turner adds length, D, playmaking, and unselfishness to a team that already has shooting and offensive firepower. Think Livingston, Iguodala, Tristan Thompson on this pick up and I think it really becomes reasonable. Adding Parsons at 100 million/4 years with his knees and game is a serious gamble without a lot of upside. Similarly, remember there really just arn’t that many superstars in free agency that are available.

 im with you here. i honestly feel that this isnt that bad of an acquisition. i also felt that the blazzers were doing there offensive schemes simillar to golden state and that fits this mold. i know dame and cj are really talented guards but theyre also the primary scorers on the team, and as much as you live with the early shot taken by your best players, youd still want to limit it and not be excessive. 

golden state addressed this issue by basically making draymond green their eric snow on offense, bringing the ball down and setting up the half court sets. they bring in iguodala off the to do so as well. this allows curry to play more off ball and the ball rotation gets going more often. since aminu can guard perimeter and post simillar to what draymond does but not set up the offense like him, they went out and got even turner to do that role on offense. i think they may have lost some abilities in the deffensive end with harkless moving to the bench if not another team but time will tell if the more dynamic offensive schemes will be better for them in the long run.

You can put the ball in Turner’s hands and move Lillard around off of the ball to get him free.

 Great deal for Evan especially as the 76ers decided he wasn’t part of their long term plans – he’s probably got great financial security now.

We have to take stock of these new deals – $15 million a year is almost what $8 to $10 million was a year or two back.
