Mr. BasketballParticipant48 west vs. west, east vs. east games. 18 interconference games this year.
This will have some pretty important implications in my opinion:
1. Miami, Chicago, Boston have edge on Dallas and Lakers for regular season record because instead of both playing against pretty equal competition, now the top east teams will feed off of the bad Eastern conference and the top west teams will have to battle the tough west much more frequently.
2. Minnesota pick becomes more valuable now for Clippers as the T-wolves will now likely have a better chance at finishing behind Cleveland, Washington, Toronto, Charlotte, and Detroit because they’ll have to play each other more and therefore will have more winable games.

TyroberParticipantI haven’t thought about that at all concerning the Wolves #1. That is going to make a huge difference. Where are their wins going to come from? Sucks for you Wolves fans, but this makes me smile 🙂

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt isn’t a big deal. Proportionally it would be as if there were 8 more intraconference from a normal 82 game year, and those additional games are just as likely to be against Miami, Chicago, and Boston as it is to be Charlotte, Toronto, and Cleveland.
