The Cavs are offering Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota for Kevin Love. The Cavs want to be able to pitch Kevin Love to LeBron.

I know everyone has speculated that this would happen, but Rizzo has “two very trustworthy sources” who say that the ball is in Minnesota’s court on this deal.

Keep in mind, Rizzo is the one who took national abuse by reporting that Joel Embiid’s examination in Cleveland showed red flags. Everyone else reported the opposite, Rizzo was criticized, but he turned out to be right.

Obviously for salaries to match, there would have to be other players involved.

 wow- i was just about to scorn this because i couldn’t comprehend the cavs had the salary- but looking at hoosphype, they only actually have $25m on the books for next year. incredible. irving/waiters/james/love is looking possible. And I’d guess that if this was to happen, they’d pull a Haslem-esque move with Varejao, turn down his $9m option, but give him a longer contract (maybe $18m over 3, $22m over 4, something like that).

They should counter with Waiters, TT, Anthony Bennett, the Heat pick, and a future first round pick.

But I can definitely see the T Wolves wanting to have Andrew Wiggins to run with Ricky Rubio.

Either way, if the Cavs get LeBron and Kevin Love to pair up with Kyrie Irving, Andy V, and some other guys, they will be one of the favorites out of the East next year (Carmelo on the Bulls would be good too).

 If the T-Wolves can get Wiggins, it’s worth the trade. They’re going to lose Love anyways, so it would be smart to get a young prospect who many people believe is a franchise type player. Minny would be incredible on the fast break in a few years as Wiggins and Lavine come into their own.

I keep reading that those reports are completely jumping the gun. They haven’t offered the Timberwolves a trade for Love and aren’t focusing on Love at the moment. Several reporters have tweeted that those rumors about a trade for Love that included Wiggins are not true at all.

I would think it would make a lot of sense for the Cavs if the got Dieng back.  Great defender.  Irving, ???, Lebron, Love, Dieng.  In order to do this though the Wolves would most likely want Waiters and Wiggins, but also have to take on Bennet and his contract.  Dieng is under control for cheap and would cheaply fill the hole at the 5 for the next few years.  There is no doubt giving up Wiggins and Waiters is a lot, but this has dynasty in the making and is lucky as the Cavs have been in the lottery they shouldn’t even care.  For the Wolves you would have to be thrilled to start a lineup of Rubio, Waiters, Wiggins, Thompson and Pek.
