”I definitely want to be an All-Star,” Gordon said. ”I’ve came close a few times. In the past three years, injuries have slowed me down a little bit. But I’m looking forward to showing a lot of different ability. I definitely would like to have the ball in my hands more and all that.”

From his weight-training work this summer during rehabilitation, Gordon said this is the strongest he’s felt before the start of a season. Earlier this month after a volunteer workout, Pelicans lead assistant Randy Ayers raved about Gordon’s participation for the past few weeks.

”He’s been good and has put in his time on the court,’’ Ayers said. He’s another guy that I think you’ll see a difference in his body.”

I’m excited to see Gordon 100% (or even close to it) healthy. He’s been working out/lifting since May and going hard with no restrictions since July. I’ve seen him a few times this summer in person and on video, and his body looks great. He looks confident, strong and just more balanced in his lower body/core.

The pressure is on Monty Williams this season. The Pelicans should be a playoff team. We all know Anthony Davis is about to enter another stratosphere, especially with Omer Asik to do the banging now. However, Williams has to figure out how to get the max out of his other top guys. Ryan Anderson would be a starter on over half the teams in the league, but will be a reserve. The Pelicans have a three headed monster in the back court with Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans. Williams has to figure out how to use Evans, because just letting him pound the ball all of the time won’t work. Hopefully, Evans has closed up some of the holes in his game this summer, so he can be used in more ways.

Really excited to see Gordon healthy and motivated, I thought he was going to be the guy to fill the "Best SG in the League" void after Kobe/Wade got too hold and would be a much better candidate that Harden because he plays both sides of the ball.

Pelicans are going to be an interesting team to watch, should be an exciting season, but I don’t see how they make the playoffs in the West, I feel like they’ll be 9th seed barring a major injury to one of the West playoff teams from last year.

People forget how he would have been an all-star in 2011 if he hadn’t broken his wrist. He was straight balling that year, but I don’t think he’ll be making it back to that level, don’t forget he’s still only 25 though.

I have to see it in order to believe it…  This guy wasn’t focused since he got that big contract, now he has the ETO at the end of this year so he gonna play hard this season…  No way in hell anyone should anyone be excited about him…  Even if he does play well it wasn’t for the team and to win…  This is fools gold with him, after signing the next contract back to the same Eric Gordon we’ve seen the past 5 years…

I’m with you about believing it when you see it, but I’m not buying he’s only going to play hard this season because he has an ETO. Even if he plays great, there’s no way he’s going to terminate early and pass up on $15.5 million he’s owed in 2015/2016. He’d be a damn foo… Because he’s going to get damn near half of that his next deal.

I’m buying that he’s all about winning and trying to get the team into the playoffs.

I really hope he is healthy, I still have a small bit of hope left he can be an All-Star. I think a better Afflalo is his ceiling now rather than that Wade upside.

"I definitely would like to have the ball in my hands more and all that." That was probably part of the reason he was not happy, along with not being 100%…

Even if his explosiveness is back I cannot see him being the player of the past due to having to share the ball with Holiday, Evans & Rivers who are all good with the ball in their hands. They need a great system, which may guarantee team success but would probably not make All Stars of anyone on the team except Anthony Davis.
