Over at Kosarka.si, Erazem Lorbek, Slovenia’s most sought-after basketball player on the free-agent market cleared the air a bit vis-à-vis Spain-based reports that he’d already reached an agreement with the San Antonio Spurs for the 2012-13 season.

Lorbek stated that he’d heard the reportage from Spain that he’d signed a deal to play in the NBA, characterizing it as “false information.”

The Euroleague first-teamer went on to say that he saw two other options for himself for 2012-13 beyond the NBA: To renew a contract with FC Barcelona or to get with another Euroleague team. Lorbek also indicated that all options are open and that the NBA is not necessarily in the driver’s seat.

Lorbek concluded with the acknowledgement that he is suffering from a few minor injuries, but he should be ready for the next season.

That music for the mixtape does not omit an heir of compeititiveness.

Lorbek is a refined player, i could see him in an NBA rotation

The 6’10" forward from Slovenia, after dunking on a Michigan State teammate during practice: "I took you to the school."

the Pacers. I’m guessing he was part of the George Hill trade? Pacers could use a good young PF and may lose Hill (RFA). Larry…?

Not sure at all why Lorbek ever left Michigan State… as a freshman he averaged 6.4 ppg and 3.3 rpg

I wonder whether the Spurs use Gary Neal or DeJuan Blair as trade chips on draft night. Nando De Colo is somone who might be ready to come over. Obviously, Lorbek is a possibility up front. Adam Hanga appeared to come on towards the middle to end of the season with Assignia Manresa, though he probably needs another year to put it together for a full season. Bertans is also someone who will stay abroad, but a name worth remembering. They only have Neal and Blair under contract for one more year, and it might be time to cash in on them to get a guy on the rookie scale for the next four years.

Lorbek left Michigan State because he didn’t like living there.

Lorbek is good. He is better than Splitter, Bonner, Blair and so forth.

De Colo is good. He is better than Neal, Anderson, Green, and so forth.

Bertans is very young and barely plays in a low level in Europe. He is talented though.

Hanga is a barely average player in a small Spanish club.

Sanikidze is actually a much better asset currently than Hanga or Bertans.
