AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantI’ve been thinking about this, and realized that there is a trend in the Sixers timeline that might give hope and happiness to Sixers fans, something to look forward to, beginning this year:
1959 – 1968: The Wilt “The Stilt” Era
1968 – 1976: DROUGHT
1976 – 1984: The Dr. J Era
1984 – 1992: The Charles Barkley Era
1992 – 1996: DROUGHT
1996 – 2006: The A.I. Era !!!
2006 – 2013: DROUGHT, kinda. (There was Igoudala, Jrue, and even the return of A.I. for a little while, but really, Sixers didn’t achieve any 50+ win seasons as with any of the previous stars. You can say it’s because all the so-called “stars” at this time were mediocre at best, and no real “franchise changers” like Wilt, Doc, Barkley, and prime A.I. were).
2013/2014 – Forward: The MCW / Andrew Wiggins (hopefully) Era Begins !!!
So, in summary: Every 8 – 10 years of having a franchise player is immediately followed by about 4 – 8 years of a drought. If this trend holds, the Sixers fans are about to enter into another golden age of hoops happiness, with hopefully Andrew Wiggins at the helm. But really, even if the Sixers don’t land Wiggins, if we just take the trend at face value, then it seems that no matter who they’re about to draft, they’re about to enter into another new era for Philly Basketball greatness again.

Chilbert arenasParticipantWhat’s he supposed to say? Out of those 3 cities I think we’d all want to be in Philly. Biggest market with potentially bright future.

AwrightAwrightAwrightParticipantYeah. If I want one of those, I’d head straight to Capriotti’s as my 1st choice, the best hoagie-specialization chain there is.
