And had two Sportscenter Top 10 plays. Disgusting block and putback slam.

Jay Bilas also said that he thinks Jabari Parker is the best player but Embiid is the best prospect.

He was kind of a monster.

    Block:

Dunk (best I could find for now, just think it is SC #1 worthy):

Did not even think about his only taking 4 shots. Got to the line 12 times, made Josh Smith almost obsolete after Georgetown’s first three possessions (where Smith scored 2 buckets and dished an assist out of a double team). Joel’s first bucket was a jumper near the baseline and he just seemed to roll from there. Completed baskets through fouls, patrolled the paint and scored a variety of shots. Even had a decent drive attempt that went in, where Smith drew an offensive foul that could have gone Joel’s way (though I did not mind the call).

My expectations for him were to be a defensive force, get in a lot of foul trouble and be good for about 6 ppg. He has dwarfed that completely. He is confident and his back-to-the-basket game is improved night and day since I saw him at the Hoop Summit practices. Still think he needs a bit of added toughness and he still is learning his spots on the floor. Regardless, Joshua Smith was not an easy cover, Embiid did a good job and he even got a seal on Smith that was no easy task. Still not a huge fan of the Olajuwon comparisons, plus still think it is hard to take him over Parker or Wiggins, though I no longer deem it impossible. Just has to keep it up, though the early results have been absolutely impressive.

He’s helping his case for being the top pick.

I am starting to suspect that Embiid will be the first pick when all is said and done.  He is just too special of a prospect and has the potential to be a serious franchise-changer.  He could be pretty scary by the time March rolls around.

Thats why so many people Excited about him…..Even though he has been playing ball only a few years..He still has a great feel for the game and a high IQ…Unlike alot of other center projects…

The Olajuwon comparisions are Unfair..But if you compare the 2 of them as freshmen,Embiid stats are very similar…

I don’t have him going number one solely because most teams in the top 10 and top 5 don’t need a center that bad. The more and more I see him play the more I like him. All I have to say is noel is working on his shot and under brett brown who is a defensive/player development  coach Embiid would surley reach a great deal of the potential he has.

the knicks and the nets are messing things up for the sixers their suppose to be winning not losing, occupying lottery slots that could be going to the pelicans.

Just thought about this brett brown has also worked with a player who started playing basketball late in Tim Duncan so I think if he was on the board it wouldn’t be a stretch to take a risk this year because they got a steal last year in mcw.

Celtics, start losing! I want Embiid in Green.

This kid is going to be a monster. He seems to get better every game.

He’s really got crazy upside. As he fills out his frame he really could be a franchise player at the C spot. And what team wouldnt want that? He makes some nice plays around the rim, he has fundamentals that most inexperienced players dont show (keeps the ball high, decisive with the ball etc) and his length and size is top notch. I hope he really can be great, but the potential is there and the fact that he improves every night is a real good sign.

When he started getting top 3 buzz I was skeptical, because I thought that raw big men are the kind of high pick that most frequently turn out to be busts. But the more I watch this guy, the more he blows me away. I’m pretty sure he has the highest ceiling among any other player eligible for this year’s draft. I still have some concerns about the fact that sometimes he seems to shy away from contacts, which isn’t a great sign for big men (though we’ve seen guys like LaMarcus Aldridge start playing with more physicality after a few years in the league), especially if that doesn’t depend from lack of strength.

But pretty much everything else about him is awesome. He runs the floor like a gazelle, he has great length and adequate leaping ability. His back to the basket game and footwork are very advanced for someone that started playing basketball so recently. Very soft hands. Promising shooting mechanics. He has great feeling for the game, he obviously make many mistakes, but he also has some reads and recognizes what defenders are doing a lot better than what you’d expect from such an unexperienced player. He’s already a decent passer. On D he’s already a great shot blocker. He still makes many mistakes, caused by his lack of knowledge of the game, so he kinda mess up things with rotations, but it’s something pretty common with young players even in a more advanced stage of their development, so he can improve with experience. But the most amazing thing is how he seems to improve game after game.

I really think he could have Olajuwon potential, though I think it will be nearly impossible to reach it. Akeem wasn’t much more polished at the same age, but he had 3 years of college experience under his belt when he came in the Nba. It’s much easier to work on fundamentals in college, because there’s much more time for practice, while in the Nba you have to play more and travel very often, so it’s more of a "on the job" learning experience and players have only the offseason to work on their game. Embiid won’t stay more than this year at Kansas, so I don’t know if he will be able to develop his game the way he could’ve in college, but still he has very solid foundations and could really become the best player of this draft class.

This is a start, but he HAS to be consistent. Come tournament time, this has to be a guy that is just dominant every single night. That is how you go number 1 in "the best draft in 20 years" or whatever people want to call it. He obviously has a high ceiling, but its not like thier aren’t other guys with ridiculously high ceilings in this draft.
