JNixonParticipant1. Chandler Parson 6’8 210, SG/SF/PF, SR., Florida- A talented player with good size for a natural wing player, it has been a disappointment for someone with all the physical ability and skills he has to have started the season so slowly. Parsons, expected to be a Sr. leader for a talented Florida team, has been very passive and soft early in the season, which has been a problem for him in the past too. A strong shooter and passer with good athleticism and size, it’s baffling why his production dwarfs his potential in his last go-round in Gainesville. I expected Parsons to raise his production and take the steps toward emerging as a 1st round prospect that he’s capable of being. So far, especially against good teams, he’s struggled to play up to his upside on a team that’s not breaking out like many expected.2. Kimmie English 6’6 195, SG/SF, JR., Mizzou- A wing scorer with a lot of confidence and aggressiveness, English has battled efficiency issues the past season and change. English has a strong mid-range game and is a decent athlete, but he isn’t very strong and struggles to finish around the rim, contain his momentum coming off screens and defend straight-line slashes because of it (Austin Freeman and Jeff Taylor abused him). I thought an off-season of hard-work, which English is chronicled for, and the addition of soon-to-be 1st option newcomer Ricardo Ratcliffe would benefit him, but he’s struggled to score some, and he’s not been efficient or very productive as a shooter or scorer.3. Larry Drew III 6’0 180, PG, JR., UNC- I know he struggled last year and whatnot, but really? He’s a former Mickey D’s guy who was supposed to be the PG of the future for UNC. But nooooo, he has been rather bad for UNC once again. A abnormal PG, in that he’s very quick, shifty and fast, as well as a nice passer on the move, but he struggles badly when he has to play up-tempo, Drew has lacked confidence so far in his UNC career to date. The only positive development in his game from last season is that he’s not turnover prone this year. EVERYTHING else that can be bad though, has been.4. Tre’Von Willis 6’4 195, SG, SR., UNLV- A lethal scorer who went thru an off-season episode where he choked his girlfriend (pleaded no contest), Willis has had a slow start to the season. After missing the 1st 2 games, Willis hasn’t been as aggressive as he was last year, and hasn’t scored 20 points in a game yet this year, after passing that mark 11 games last year. It may be rust, in fact that’s what I think it is, but his season has started slow.5. Wally Judge 6’9 245, PF, SO., Kansas State- Possibly the most nervous playing Mickey D’s All-American in history, Judge has been a disappointment for the 2nd straight year. A physically gifted PF with great athleticism and strength, Judge hasn’t done much to improve offensively. He lacks any real moves, and scores off his own misses or basic catch and finish chances. He’s plays with little to no awareness, doesn’t make high IQ plays, and fouls far too much. He’s also not as big a factor on the glass or blocking shots as he should be. Judge has been an underachiever, and it seems he’s so worried about making mistakes and Coach Martin getting in his ass that he’s not playing confident.6. Sean Mosley 6’3 205, SG, JR., Maryland- A player who was thought to be a beneficiary of Greivis Vazquez’s graduation, Mosley has failed to produce for a Maryland team that has struggled to score on the wing against the quality teams on their schedule so far. Mosley has been inconsistent and has wavering aggressiveness, and he still has a very basic dribble drive game. He continues to play his usual tough on-ball D, but he’s really not going to progress until he gets better off the bounce.0 - Posted on: Sun, 12/12/2010 - 9:28am #456205

JNixonParticipantI didn’t really want to include freshmen. They have adjustment periods, and Barnes could be good by the conference slate. It’s too early to right off guys who’ve just started playing college ball.

Cardinal_FanParticipantWally Judge has really been a disappointing 2 me, I actually took Kansas St. serious as a national championship contender because i juss knew this would be a breakout year for him, but now i think they are a sweet 16/ elite 8 team at best. Wally is too talented of a player to not produce at this level.
