BallerScriptParticipantIt’s early days and nothing is set in stone but I’ve got a quick question for you folks.
Who’s a prospect you’re already eyeing up a bit for your favourite team?

festar35ParticipantKris Wilkes from UCLA (Because the Pacers don’t have enough Bruins already…..)
I really like his game it reminds me of a Harrison Barnes type, but he needs to work on his shooting. If he gets better in that aspect of his game he could be a really nice combo forward.

That’d be great if Wilkes ended up back in Indianapolis!
I got to watch him train a handful of times this summer. He worked his ass off. His shooting is improved and so is his balance/footwork.

Striver347ParticipantRui Hachimura!
He’s a bit rough around the edges and looks like a work in progress. I think he’d be a lovely fit in Portland. He shows plenty of promise.

HitsterParticipantAs a Suns fan we would logically be looking at a PG but next year’s draft class looks thinner than Bol Bol in that department. So if we were lottery again apart from landing RJ and moving Booker to point, I’m intrigued by Zion Williamson. He may be undersized but his strength and athleticism as an option alongside Ayton is intetesting to me.

Evan_MilbergParticipantDwight Howard was a nice pickup for the Wizards, but he’s not getting any younger and is likely a one-year rental anyway, which means the team still needs a long-term answer at the center position. I was really hoping either Bruno Fernando or Jontay Porter would stay in the 2018 Draft so the Wizards could find a long term prospect at PF/C. Both would really complement Wall well in the pick and roll. Sadly, they both returned and will likely both be off the board next year assuming the Wizards end up drafting in the mid-first round again. I think they’re both worth keeping an eye on in the event one of their stocks slip or Grunfeld makes the rare decision to trade up.

HitsterParticipantThe Wizards could do with a young front court guy as Evan Milberg correctly points out. They weren’t really in a position to draft a young big this year unless they had taken a flyer on say someone like Robert Williams.
This coming season they would likely hope to be better than 8th seed so would be picking somewhere say 18th or lower. I think they will keep an eye on guys like Jontay Porter who could be in their draft range and certainly run the rule over Bol Bol whose draft status could be a real wildcard next summer.

Evan_MilbergParticipantBol Bol would be an interesting fit with the Wizards. I personally think he’s being underrated right now and will finish the year as a top 8 prospect. That said, his game is perfect for the modern NBA and his presence alone would open up a wide range of offensive schemes and rotations for the Wizards in ways Fernando and Porter wouldn’t. As an added bonus, his dad is a legend in DC, so adding Bol Bol would greatly energize the fan base.

HobbyOGParticipantZion for the Hawks…it’s so boring going to a Hawks game. We need someone like Zion to excite the crowd, like Nique did in the 80s.

cominup7Participant2019 is a really top heavy draft, maybe 5 or 6 potential stars but deep in quality players.
Killian Tillie reminds me so much of a Kelly Olynyk/Brad Miller
Zach Norvell can be a good value pick at the end of the first/early 2nd round
Naz Reid can explode and solidify his top 5 status with a good season at LSU

HitsterParticipantI had actually forgotten that the late great Manute Bol played for Washington so Bol Bol would be an interesting fit there. In some ways following the same path as his father could be harder but the Washington fans would likely receive him very well but would they always compare him to his dad I wonder. The commercial aspect would be good as they would sell a lot of jerseys with the name on.

pullapoParticipantCeltics are loaded with wings and a majority of the top prospects in this draft are wings. With that Kings pick (assuming its 2-5) I’m looking at Zion. I do think he has some bust potential, especially if hes on a bad team without good plamakers. In Boston, that wont be a problem and worst case scenario is hes a top flight energizer. If he’s gone I stay the course with best player available and try to grab Reddish, Langford or Little, players who fit the Celtics switching system and should fit in seemlessly. Although trading out of this draft and kicking that pick a few drafts down the line doesnt seem like the worst idea either, with the amount of picks and players this team has.
