Andre Drummond was labeled the ‘physical beast’ of the 2012 NBA Draft by Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.

Drummond is "278 pounds with 7.5 percent body fat. He said his vertical leap today was 38 inches. He was disappointed – said he’s hit 40 before. He measured 6-9 3/4 w/out shoes, 6-11 3/4 w/ shoes, with a 7-6 1/4 wingspan," wrote Amick.

Drummond told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports that he would love a one-on-one workout for the Hornets against Anthony Davis.

"I don’t think we can get it done," said Drummond. "I’d love for it to happen."

Ha! Dude had all season to show what he had. Now he’s talking, guess what Drummond? Davis won it all.

Davis is definitely going #1 and there’s nothing Drummond can do about it, but with these measurements, Drummond could definitely go #2 if he impresses the Bobcats.

Too bad he doesn’t play as big as his body.

Drummond does have a very wide body but didn’t get much above average on standing reach, which is equally important for centers. Cousins, for instance, has 4 inches on him there. Drummond also has very small hands which is crucial for easily catching entry passes and posting up. They aren’t Kwame Brown small, but they are small. Overall the measurements were neutral  for Drummond in regards to expectations. I do suspect he will kill on the vertical tests though which will keep him in contention for the 2nd pick.

How do a pair of shoes give an extra two inches?

Andre has over 50 pounds on the dude, lol. I understand that taking Davis is much less of a risk, he knows where to be on the floor and he produced results Andre did not. Still, I would love to see these two match-up. If Andre realizes what he has a possible post trench big man, he could be as good as anyone in the draft. The only issue is, I am not sure he realizes it. Still would be fun to see how he and Davis would square off.

Also, who gives a $hit about his shoes. He is 6’11. Add 1.25 inches to 6’9.75, that is what it comes to. Maybe he was wearing thick orthotics? Either way, think people know he is 6’11, and to think scouts care about him measuring 2 inches taller with shoes is kind of silly. Spencer Hawes was measured 2.25 inches more than his height. The important thing learned was, dude was damn near 7 feet tall (6’10.5). Andre is 6’11 with monster arms. Known and processed.
