Now this is interesting. Now a lot of people who play GM on NBA 2k all day (like me lol) are gonna think the solution is simpler than what it is. The reality is N.O. would not get offered anything CLOSE to equal value for Paul or Wall in this scenario. Every team in the league would know full well N.O. would have to trade Paul or the #1 or Collison and would low ball them to death in trade talks. The second problem with trading Collison is that it wouldn’t improve the situation in the backcourt (depth), which is the reason they drafted Collison in the first friggin place. The third problem is Wall is better and has 5 times more potential than Collison therefore making the second problem even worse! Wall can play the two, but N.O has Thornton. Wall would possibly be a better SG than Thornton offensively, but not defensively, making that point moot as well. Yeah N.O. would trade somebody, but the point is that New Orleans may be the only lotto team that isn’t crossing their fingers for #1. It actually might be a disaster in the short term.

Now this is a team that takes Turner and doesn’t think twice. They are solidified at the PG spot. No need for Wall when SG is a glaring need.

LOL..Did u guys not learn anything from Portland passing on Jordan becuz they already had Jim Paxson who was an allstar in 1983 & 84..And the year before they drafted Drexler who later became 1 of the 50 greatest? Turner will be an AllStar …Walls will be a legend..They should draft Walls if they do get the 1st pick..Then later see what their best options will be to better their team….

    Draft Turner.

    Paul
    Turner
    Thornton
    West
    Okafor

Then you have Collison off the bench, or you trade him and Okafor to upgrade at C

Rudeboy I respectfully disagree. You’re forgetting important factors in your comparison. First, we’re talking about a #1 scenario, which is much different than a 2 vs. 3 scenario 99% of the time. Houston selected one of the 10 best centers of all-time #1. Also Portland had Drexler who was not just an “all-star”. He is a legend too. And Portland also passed on Barkley and Stockton, also legends, who would have been a better fit than Jordan. What I’m getting at is a lot of people immediately bring up the Bowie/Jordan thing whenever there are two high rated prospects with one having more potential than the other. Remember Portland missed on THREE Hall of Famers, not just one. The only evidence we have at this point that Turner won’t be as productive in the NBA as Wall is athletic ability.

Best case scenario wall becomes as good as paul…so what’s the point of having 2 top pgs when there are huge holes in the lineup. If they can’t get a decent offer on the pick, take Turner, have him start at the 2 and be able to slide him to the 3 when Thornton comes in off the bench. Trade collison.

Id rather have Paul who can average double digit assists and is a better shooter than Wall who is more of a freak athlete. Turner and Paul would be a sick backcourt.

The only scenario where they take Wall is if they trade him for Turner or Favors and another asset or some other team outside of the lottery that is willing to take on bad contracts and still give up a good young player

no..i was making a comparison..u said they have Paul, Collison and Thorton..They dont need Walls…U also said it will be bad for a team to draft number 1..If they do get the 1st pick..There are so many things the can do..I bet 29 other teams would love to be in their position.

    Having the 1st pick..
The best point guard in the league..
And having a budding Allstar in Collison…

Their only negative is the fact they’re trying to trade payroll….

If Eric Blesoe and Wall can play together at the college level, why can’t Wall play with Paul. This scenario would not be bad but I think New Orleans would either take Turner who should make the final or title game with Kansas out or take Wall and do a trade with the 2nd pick and some. There will be no low ball offers for Wall. Think about it teams that had not chance at Wall would almost gut their team for him. I think New Orleans would be smart to take him and trade Collison plus a bad contract.

If NO gets the 1st pick and decide to take Wall and trade him…you must get rid of Peja or Okafor’s contract. Maybe even both

I don’t see why this would be a doomday scenario. I just don’t want Minny or Clippers to get Wall.

Worst case, draft Turner and see the team get better next year.

Best case, wait for a team to make an offer they cannot refuse so they can take Wall.

Sheltwon, you could put wall at the two but on D he won’t be able to just stand and watch like he does now. he would be guarding taller, stronger, and (for his first couple years) better players and would get worked badly for a while.

the I in win, Paul team with Pargo sometimes at the one and the two and Pargo is smaller than Wall. Plus Wall and Thornton are the same height but Thornton is bigger but i believe Wall is longer and more athletic. Still with the way Turner is playing I think he has a case for being the number one overall but you can get more with taking and trading Wall. I think in New Orleans have no deal in place than they should take Evan Turner. Turner is versatile and Thornton is more of a off the bench six man type. They can then trade Collison for a small forward and a future pick. Memphis and Minny have numerous picks but both has young point guard but Collison is better than both right now so who knows.

it depends on where certain teams are to trade wall

ie. indy could have the 3rd pick and that would be perfect

    1. draft wall
    2. indy drafts favors or wes johnson
    3. trade collison and okafor for hibbert and granger
    4. trade wall for blake griffin
    5. trade west, wright, posey, peterson and this year and next years 2nd round picks for sammie d, iggy, and young

option* trade thorton in the indy trade, keep picks abd draft bouldin out of gonzaga

    Noh
    paul – iggy – granger – griffin – sammie d
free agent – thorton – peja – young – hibbert

Hmm if I was New Orleans, I would draft Wall and then trade him along with guys with multiple years left on there contract as well as the team’s top draft pick this year to draft another position need.
