Dime Magazine reports that Allen Iverson has reached an agreement with the Charlotte Bobcats and the deal will become official next week.

Friday night, Dime’s Aron Phillips spoke to an unnamed source who works in the NBA and said that Allen Iverson has worked out the details of a contract with the Charlotte Bobcats, but the deal won’t be official until next week.

Me now: I personally think this will work, whether or not Raymond Felton re-signs or not. There’s not any particular go to-scorer, and Felton and Augustin seemed fine as a short duo when they started together. The move will do what it’s supposed to do: Provide entertainment value, and get people somewhat excited in Charlotte.

    Thoughts?

Good move, but still not a playoff team to me.

Iverson will give you a small back court and now you swapped a 15-12 guy for 1 9-13 guy….bad move

If the Knicks don’t get Sessions then I think they should go after Felton.

That could work for Felton but Felton wants more money than Sessions and Session is the better playmaker and has size on defense and offense.

so it’s a starting line up
    PG Felton (Augustin)
    SG Iverson (Henderson, Bell)
    SF Wallace (Ajinca)
    PF Diaw (Radmanovic)
    C Chandler (Diop)

the bench is not realy deep, but this is not far from a playoff team, though i’m not an Iverson fan it’s a nice pickup for the Bobcats

It will take some of the scoring pressure off of Wallace, I think he’ll be a better player as a second scoring option

did this say how long the contract was for?? anyways im betting ai goes back to scoring 23+ per game and around 6-7 assists… great move for the bobcats… basically a pretty talented defensive team to surround ai with…. seems about as good as it can get for him…

Henderson is Gerald Green part two in my opinion, he is an elite athlete, but i just don’t see him as an effective NBA player

I think he can be good in the NBA. He has a great mid range game and he defends well. I see him being a solid starter in the next couple seasons

He definitely needs to improve his outside shot as a 2 guard. You are right about his strengths, i could maybe see him as a defensive spark off the bench who could get a few points, but i don’t think being a number one option at Duke will translate into him being a scorer in the next level. Playing with a true point guard in Ray Felton will work to his advantage, because his pass first mentality and experience playing the half court offense will be similar to what he was used to at Duke, I think he will play a while, but just as a spark off the bench, i disagree with you on him being a starter, unless he does develop an NBA 3 point shot

Henderson has a higher basketball I.Q than Green, which is Green’s main weakness. If he works hard on at least one facet of his offensive skill set (becomes a reliable shooter, strengthens his left hand), then I believe he can become a decent NBA player.
