Pro-21ParticipantAwhile back, I wrote that Wiggins didn’t have a Vince Carter/Superstar ceiling. I think I take that back now. What I wanted to see was whether or not he would develop his ball skills to best utilize his athleticism, and he has clearly done that so far.
He’s able to find creases in the defense more easily and is using change of pace dribbles and crossovers better than I thought he would at this point. His hands are massive, his length and height are ridiculous, so once he’s at the rim he has no problem finishing. His explosive bounce and body control help with that too.
He’s finishing with his left hand, shotting about 38% from midrange. This guy is getting better every month, and I now don’t even feel comfortable putting a ceiling on him. I said he’d be better than Jimmy Butler before this year’s over, and that is looking very possible so far. He even decisively outplayed him earlier this season. Look out for Wiggins, he’ll be an all star for a long time!

JDB12ParticipantI’m a huge Wolves fan and love Wiggins, but I’m not sure he’ll be better than Butler by the end of the year because I Butler is such a good player and an all-star. I think Wiggins will have some impressive performances and some glimpses of superstardom, but I don’t think the consistency is quite there yet to say he’s definitively better than Jimmy Buckets. But with his ceiling (or lack of one), who knows, he could be better by seasons end and maybe lead the Wolves in a push for a playoff spot.

PulseGlazerParticipantWiggins is very good and on a path to be truly great. Can’t that be enough for now? He isn’t catching a top 15 player weeks had significantly me development this year. Enjoy what you have.

theballerwayParticipantIs Butler better than Paul George? George has come back with a bang.
Wiggins is looking good more often than not.

OhCanada-ParticipantFor a player with his physical tools and athletic and size advantage against players in his position he needs to get more than 3 rebounds per game. He reminds more of a more polished version of Derozans in regards to his weaknesses. His dribble has improved but he has to keep working on his body, his jumpshot, and his willingness to get dirty and gritty.
Also for a player that gets as many ISO touches as he does he has to create a lot more for his teammates. For him and Minnesota to take the next stage he needs to be averaging at least 3-4 assists per game and become more of a facilitator in the T-Wolves offense.
