halfdecayedParticipantthat’s very surprising to me lol, but Aldridge and Parker were just bad.. Duncan didn’t do anything offensively.. But man, Kawhi fouled Westbrook and it wasn’t called.. Another very important call blown by the refs..
Who do you think has the better chance against Golden State? OKC or SA ?

DukeDaSquadParticipantDefinitely San Antonio. Better ball movement on offense, more contributors, the best post player in the playoffs, best defense in the playoffs.

NickWayne87ParticipantSan Antonio has the better chance against golden state because they have more experienced big men to exploit Golden State’s GLARING weakness and are better defensively all the while being potent offensively.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThe missed call at the end was huge. Leonard clearly grabbed him and the refs had to know they were trying to foul. Don’t understand how that could possibly be missed.
That being said, okc stepped up and took this game away from SA down the stretch and absolutely deserved to win. It looked like SA had the game in hand at one point but okc actually looked like the more composed team down the stretch.

DukeDaSquadParticipantI agree. A very weird missed call since San Antonio had to foul and the refs had to know they were going for the foul. Ive seen instances in much less significant games where much less contact was made but a foul was still called.
The Spurs choked down the stretch and WestBeast was not going to let the team lose. I support OKC and would like for them to atleast return to the Conference Finals after the Injuries that they had to deal with and all the speculation of Durant leaving the team this off season. I wouldn’t mind seeing San Antonio advance either

BiggysmallsParticipantBefore someone comes on here shouting to everyone in sight that they told us so, let me admit, I thought this would be Spurs in 6.
Didn’t like the way OKC looked against Dallas and thought the Spurs were going to be able to just out-execute them and carve them up.
That hasn’t really happned outside of game 1. The OKC defense has been excellent and Aldridge has struggled since Game 2.
This series has been great. It’s a shame that the Spurs will likely lose, while either the Raptors or the Heat will still be playing two weeks from now. That’s just a sad, sad thing.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI’m not really one to gloat when I’m right either because I’m wrong plenty. I was the one who said that Atlanta would make the cavs sweat in round 2. However, back at the end of the regular season, when everyone was basically saying warriors-spurs was a foregone conclusion I did say not so fast. OKC, when healthy, has always given SA problems and Westbrook is a matchup nightmare for them.
It’s sad to see but Duncan is just having a hard time competing out there.

festar35ParticipantI really like the Kanter at PF option against San Antonio, I’m not sure how it would work against GSW as Green would probably have a field day.
The line-up of Westbrook-Roberson-Durant-Kanter-Adams is definitely their best as Ibaka seems to have regressed as Adams has taken on a bigger role and is impressing in doing so. I always thought Adams was a good player, but he may be better than I anticipated and potentially a 3rd All-Star on OKC due to his all around workload. He could get a berth like a Roy Hibbert did in Indiana without putting up big numbers but his value is shown either way.

circumlocution75ParticipantSteve Adams single handedly rescued that game 2 win after the Dion Waiters "Inbounds Elbow" & the ensuing turn-over…….
If you missed it……. watch that final 11 or 12 seconds after Waiters inbounds to Durant……… & the Spurs somehow cause a turn over…… It looked as though the Spurs would have an Easy lay up to win the game at the buzzer…… but Adams single handedly guarded about 3 different Spurs……
Canter has been good, Waiters has been good, Roberson has been good…….. & I have to give OKC a TON of credit for clawing back & making this a Series……
I know that delayed foul call on Westbrook that turned into an "And 1" was HUGE……. b/c it denied the Spurs a chance to tie w/ a 3 point shot…… but the Thunder are showing Tru Heart….. to dig & dig & dig & win 2 games AT San Antonio is remarkable……
We’ll see if OKC can close it out in game 6 at home…… I do think OKC has a slightly better chance against GSW…… Spurs are the better team but it’s Much closer than we all realized…… & the SPurs are basically an Older version of the Warriors……. & as Great as the Spurs have been I just don’t think they can beat GSW……… I don’t think OKC can either but Durant & Westbrook are such Freak Super Stars – maybe they could steal 2 or 3 games & get it to 7 games……..

DolanCareParticipantThe Spurs are definitely more equipped to beat the Warriors, but they may not make it past OKC. No one on San Antonio can handle Westbrook, except for Kawhi but he’s busy doing everything else.
Meanwhile, Curry may be the best player in the league but he’s not the league’s best athlete- and it is athleticism that kills SA.

HitsterParticipantAfter the Spurs won the first game by 32 points I thought they were clear favourites to win the series fairly easily. Also a lot of us had pencilled in a Spurs vs GSW Conference Final several weeks ago and thought the winners were likely to go on and take the Championship.
The Thunder have probably two of the best five NBA players on their squad and other talented players but they didn’t seem to have the team togetherness that the Spurs always have.
I would not write the Spurs off and agree they would be a more difficult side for GSW to beat than the Thunder who might play a more free scoring style.
Also don’t forget that Portland took GSW to OT in game 4 so the series could easily be 2-2 but with Steph Curry Double MVP back I’d back GSW to come through the series.
The big winner indirectly could be LBJ’s Cavs who are in their Conference Final and are resting up and if they get to the NBA Finals fairly quickly could be sat back watching a titantic Western Conference Final.

phila9012ParticipantI think if the thunder do win they have a chance against the warriors. I think adams can guard green well enough. They can stick kanter on barnes, barnes doesn’t really do that much in their offense. If waiters plays like he did last night he can play at the end of close games. That thunder lineup pounded the spurs on the boards and the spurs played 2 big men and kawhi. They could pound the GSW and force them to change. I think if you are the thunder you have to try that. Nobody is beating the warriors trying to play small ball. I think it could be a great series.

SubZeroParticipantDo people not remember that there were 2 games in a row in the regular season where we (OKC) were winning in the last 2 minutes, only to be the victim of Steph’s legendary heroics? Both games we gave up, he and Klay hit crazy shot after crazy shot to take the game. They won’t be hitting those every game, and we’re playing better now than we did in the regular season. I definitely think we have a better chance than the Spurs do, but only if we try to play our game. If we go small ball, we’re screwed

BiggysmallsParticipantI can’t imagine anyone would consider OKC winning the title "lightning in a bottle"…they’ve been at worst, a top-4 NBA team for five years now. Dallas was a consistently good team…they hadn’t been Championship caliber for a while though.
