Interesting – I agree that despite their shady past, they will most likely honor Derons as he has the lawyers and agents smart enough to secure a deal in his favor, and in case Besiktas does pull something, he also has the people to take care of any legal dispute for him without having to waste any of his personal time on it.

It will be interesting to see how the team receives Deron though – the player interviewed for that story painted an interesting picture of a team showing up to practices even after not being paid, and being paid late when they do get their checks, and Deron will show up with security guards, paid on time, and a driver. 

Hopefully Deron will take this oppurtunity to help his new teammates out. I know how it feels, when I was 19 I remember showing up to work and seeing the entire office cleaned out and the owners skipped town – nobody got paid and we were all behind on our checks with the promise we’d be paid. So I hope Deron encourages their ownership to pay guys on time, for the sake of that team gelling better, because with him at point, and the potential for more top 10 NBA players to go overseas, those Turkish/European club fans are in for a real treat.
