I was actually checking out the Bulls & how much they are struggling this year…… & it reminded me of the Bulls & Nuggets 2014 NBA Draft day trade……. & how these 2 teams might be heading in different Directions…..

The Bulls owned the #16 & 19 picks in the 2014 NBA Draft but appeared to be just a really good 3 point shooter away from Title contention…… So they offered #16 pick 7 foot center Jusuf Nurkic aka "The Bosnian Beast & 6’4” rugged Michigan St. SG Gary Harris…… in exchange for Creighton University’s 6’7” Dougie "McBuckets" McDermott…….

Even though McDermott still shoots a better 3pt% 41% vs 35%….. Harris actually has a better FG% this year at 46% vs 43%……. Harris, Rookie PG Mudiay & Will Barton have out together a pretty imposing young 3 guard rotation (All 3 are Avg double figures in PPG)…..

Gallinari (27 y/o) & Faried (26 y/o) are both having strong seasons…… & the Bosnian Beast Nurkic & fellow 2nd year Center Nikola Jokic …… combine to average 16 pts, 7 reb & 33 min per game….. The Nuggets have put together a nice young team quickly – 27 wins so far this year –

I’m not saying McDermott has anything to do w/ the Bulls 32 – 32 season…… & he is beginning to have some good games….. but Gary Harris & Emmanuel Mudiay are looking like a very nice young back court & the trade,…… along w/ some other moves over the last 2 years have enabled the Nuggets to quickly pivot from the Ty Lawson / Randy Foye / Aaron Afflalo back court of just a year ago……. that won 30 games a year ago & appeared to be going nowhere…….

We don’t usually talk about Denver….. I thought I’d switch gears a little……. What do you guys think about the Nuggets?

I agree with your points MOST of the moves have been good which has to be applauded in today’s league..however I don’t think anybody is over achieving other than Will Barton who could be a rotation player 6th man at best for a contender. Still have quite a few holes in terms of wings and could use a star big. I’d keep Gallinari no matter  what because his skill set is so valuable these days. Everyone else would be an asset, moveable for some Star power.

that’s why I didn’t include him in the recap at the bottom…… I was actually surprised he was averaging 15 ppg….. & I agree w/ everything you wrote……

While I applaude them for replacing their guard rotation w/ a pretty good young new foundation….. they may quickly find themselves in that NBA no man’s land……. where they are never bad enough to land a "Super Star" level talent at the Top of the Draft Lottery…… the dreaded NBA Conundrum

Pacers , Knicks , and the Wizards have all ran into a similar brick wall in recent years. This is why many teams decide to tank its sad…and unsportsman like In the Nets case they traded away their future for a flimsy run with KG and The Truth AT LEAST the Nuggets have something to look forward to (like their own picks)lol
