McDunkinAs had been expected for some time now, testing for Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is making its way to the NBA, and fast. According to Commissioner David Stern, it could be in place as early as next season. Per WCCO (via SI): “We watch what’s going on in baseball, we watch the negotiations that are going in with football, and it is my expectation that by next season [we] will be doing blood testing for HGH,’ Stern said. ‘Our players have been terrific. They lead this in some ways, saying, ‘ We do not want to have anything less than the best.’ That’s been the way it’s been since 1983.’ […] ‘If I say I don’t have a concern, everyone says I’m a Pollyanna,’ Stern said. ‘I don’t have any reason to know one way or another. My guess is and my hope is that it’s not widely used in the NBA.’”

Leonard WashingtonParticipantThis should be interesting for us to find out if HGH is widely used in the league, and who uses it. Especially if it happens to be Superstars in the league. Who are some potential players that people on this site think may being using ban substances? A few that come to mind for me, and I’m not saying they are by any means but it wouldn’t be shocking if they were, are Dwight Howard…Metta World Peace….Russell Westbrook…Blake Griffin….Dwade…and sad to say because hes my favorite player and the best in the league, King James

tli232If superstars like LeBron James/ Kevin Durant tests positive for HGH, why in the world would the NBA disclose it? It could cost the NBA MILLIONS of dollars in advertising and merchandise.
It taints the image of the league if the stars get caught.
It’s kinda like the flopping fines. The NBA doesn’t dare slap LeBron with a fine because it compromises the integrity of the sport.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhich is why David Stern is giving them the heads up a full season in advance lol

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantOh god I hope none of them are using it, I stopped watching baseball after it was revealed that many of the players use banned substances; PED’s do cause hair loss so the NBA will be on Bron like white on rice.

ReekoParticipantAmong a multitude, HGH might be popular but it is not by any means the PED out there. Even if a lot or even all of the players return negative results it does not necessarily mean that they are not using, they could be using another agent. I am extremely curious about some of these players such as LeBron (his rapidly receding hairline), Kobe (His level of play at this age is surprising, especially the athleticism he still displays), Wade (the way he plays I feel like it`s a miracle he`s lasted 10 years in league playing at this high of a level), and Rondo (his shoulders are ridiculous). However something tells me that if anything were to be uncovered in terms of a big name player, Stern would cover it up quickly provided the government doesn`t get overly involved like they did in the MLB

HaleParticipantI don’t think Durant is in any danger of taking substances right now.

Chilbert arenasParticipantÍ want to see what’s on the band substance list. Is adderall on there like the NFL?

IndianaBasketballParticipantDHEA is what both Rashard Lewis (2009) and OJ Mayo (2011) tested positive for.
Both players claimed they didn’t realize it was banned, which is hard to believe. The list isn’t THAT big and you think they’d pay attention (double and triple check) what they put in their bodies.
