steviechillzParticipantFirst, glad the guy is getting a second chance(racist scouting report issue)…America is the land of second chances. This is a great hire by the Pelicans; Ferry is the same guy who helped construct the 2015 Atlanta Hawks that won 60 games! He also did great work with the Cavs and the Spurs back in the day.
What do you guys think of the hire?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantGreat hire if you want the guy to find you an Ethiopian selling fake sun glasses from the trunk of his car..

220ParticipantDanny Ferry is just there to ensure Dell Demps doesn’t acquire another injury prone player or trade away loads of future first round picks. Plus if and when the Pelicans decide to fire Demps they can promote Ferry to his position.

theballerwayParticipanthes demps replacement in the wings. there no need for this racist ass to be back in. If you can control you ignorance and respect players or people in general because you think nobody will find out. your giving him way too much credit regarding the hawks all he really did was move Joe Johnson. Its a shame that the players have minimal pride and are about the cheques but I understand the world we live in. How do the players feel about this?/???
Question do the NBA still own Pelicans as this is bad on them. I mean would you sell Sterling another team?

220ParticipantThe owner of the New Orleans Saints, I think his name is Tom Benson, owns the Pelicans and have as long as they’ve been the Pelicans.

SubZeroParticipantEverybody is just looking for new ways to be offended nowadays. He and Sterling are completely different, it’s not even close to the same situation. Sterling actually was a racist, Danny Ferry was literally quoting a scouting report. The fact that he even got in trouble for it is ridiculous to me, almost as ridiculous as the Steven Adams “controversy” a few weeks ago. He’s not racist. Let it go and quit looking to be offended just so you can vilify someone to feel important.
Also worth noting, according to Marc Stein, Dell Demos urged the ownership to hire him and has turned to him periodically over the past couple of seasons. Even though he’s black and Ferry is racist.
