Andrew1984ParticipantI’m suspicious of the silence coming out of Big D. We’re entering an offseason with names like Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love on the move, LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh making a big decision. Pau Gasol and Luol Deng are UFAs. Rudy Gay, Eric Bledsoe, Chandler Parsons, and Gordon Hayward are RFAs. Additionally, the most loaded draft in years is fast approaching.
Mark Cuban is not the sort of guy who likes to sit idly by. On top of that, their in-state rivals won another NBA title. Dallas has no first-round picks and Dirk still hasn’t re-signed (although he said he will).
I just can’t see Dallas landing zero of the big name FAs, not making any trades, not obtaining any first-round draft picks, and going into next year with essentially the same roster, another No. 8 seed at best.
That’s not the Mark Cuban I watch every Friday night on ABC. He’s probably still sour about not getting Dwight Howard. So what’s his plan? Anyone hear anything?

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantDirk recently said that the Mavs’d love Melo.

mixtape2003ParticipantI live in the Dallas area (Laker Fan though) and it has been pretty quiet since their season ended, especiallly compared to the last two offseasons when D. Will and Howard was free agents. I don’t see any big moves this offseason, mostly the talk around Dallas and from interviews on the radio with Dirk is continuity with the team and not really any major change to the core of the team. What they do will def depend on how much Dirk resigns for and see how much cap they have to play with.
Free agents: Dirk (NOT GOING ANYWHERE),Marion, Carter, Blair, Harris, Dalembert (Team Options)
All their free agents prob would come back for cheap, Mario and Carter and I can see getting interest from contenders. Now, other FA who they can atract to come to Dallas would be your 2 or 3 tier SF or C with Deng being the top of that list. Gay, Hayward, Turner, Ariza are other options at that position that maybe a little pricey. At the center Monroe would not be a bad fit if your willing to pay the max, more realistic options would be either Gortat or Hawes.

KHAM83ParticipantMark Cuban has a false belief that FAs are lining up for Dallas, well not the MAX types. He may be a great owner to play for, but players are looking to win and to be competitive for the long term. Dirk has only a couple more years playing at his level. And even if they were to brig in Lebron, Dallas isn’t a championship caliber team, therefore Lebron, nor Mello/Howard/Deron Williams, are lining up to play there.
