When former Kentucky center DeMarcus Cousin’s mind wanders to last year’s dismal 73-66 loss to West Virginia in the NCAA Tournament’s East Regional final, Cousins tosses and turns as images of missed shots and missed opportunities replay in his mind.

"When I think about it, I can’t sleep at night because we should have won that game," said Cousins, now a rookie center for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.

Even at 18, Cousins understood he was part of something special.

"Yes, I wish I was still there," Cousins said. "College life was fun."

I’m sure a part of all NBA players wish they were still at there school then the other part says "Yeah but now you have millions and can buy what ever you want". Would be nice if he goes back and tells Knight, Jones that they should stay another year

Nice for the team next year, but those guys have a chance to win a chip this year still. Got further than the guys last year, even though I am sure almost anyone here would have said last years team was better with Wall, Cousins, Patterson and Bledsoe (Orton did not do a whole lot). I do not understand why people always say these things in hindsight. I think it is a sign of immaturity, honestly. Yes, it would be awesome to win an NCAA championship, but what happened, happened. You have to move on and be happy with your choices. It is incredibly difficult to win an NCAA championship and many things need to go your way.

If anyone watches "South Park", do you remember the episode where they lament about how awesome the 3rd grade was? They talk about how awesome it was, how great the teacher was, how easy it was? Than, in the end, they realized, it sucked. Well, I would use that as a comparison. College is awesome, except for the having to answer to a coach who watches your moves much more like a hawk than the NBA, classes and other obligations. Yes, college for DeMarcus Cousins I am sure was fun, losing in the NBA must suck, but the guy was the 5th pick in the draft and is having a decent rookie year with a team being built around him. Jones and Knight may not be in the same place as Cousins, but I am sure whatever decision they make will turn out alright. But, if DeMarcus Cousins told me to stay in school, I would take it with a grain of salt. He should be happy with where he is instead of lamenting about the good old days and how he shoulda been a contenda.

They missed a lot of shots, I thought they were going to win that game, but you have give WV credit, they played really good. I like his advice too, I think players this year(unless your a senior, or fear of dropping next year) should not enter the draft this since the whole lockout issue.

If thats the case everyone in the world is immature because we al have sometime we wish we could go back to that we might have skipped out on a lil earlier then we had too. Its the same with people who switch jobs, Schools, Girls;).

If i was a Star at Kentucky and Cousins came back and said he missed it and to stay in school you know what i’d do?…..I’d still go pro, i won’t let emotions cloud a smart move( or selfish move if thats how you wanna look at it) i would much rather have the millions of Dollars,Fame, beautiful women, treated like a star, then going to class, eating at the cafateria, staying in a small room with a roommate who doesn’t pick up after his self or take showers, studying for things i will never use in life

I know we all do Quincey, but I for some reason was just seeing Cousins as kind of whining about this whole thing. Yes, many of us go over the past in our minds, and in his case he could definitely think of this in his head rather than lament to the media. Also, are these kids any different from you in mind set? All I am saying is, I would not really see Cousins as an advisor in this particular area. I think he is complaining for the sake of complaining, which to me is not exactly a quality you want to see. Every player thinks of what could have been, but not every player says "I wish I was still there" to the media while he is still playing games in his rookie year. I am not saying he can not think these things, but thinking them and saying them while your former team is still alive in the NCAA tournament are two different things.

This is something thats said by most NBA players. Kobe and Lebron have said on a couple of occassions that they wished they went to college ( although i believe if givent he chace to do it over they would have did the same thing) . they all say i but i don’t believe any of them would do it( excluding those who were drafted in the second round)
