I saw this on PTI. it was a odds question and

Wilbon was 40% and Tony went 35% that Cousins could be better then Wall in the NBA

    What do you think?

I think that’s a slap in the face to John Wall……Cousins has the ability to be good, but not John Wall good. I expect big things from Mr. Wall

Though many will hate on me for saying this, I think that there is a big possibility that Cousins will be better. Worst Case Scenario: Wall turns out to be a Shannon Brown and Cousins turns out be an improved Jermaine Oneal.

    Dhamp,kidding?

John Wall is already better than Brown, already…No chance he is a bench player in the NBA, no way…John Wall will be the best pg in the NBA in 3 years…I truly believe that

And to answer the question, there is a 1% chance Cousins ends up better than Wall…..Which would be a miracle

With all due respect, I did say the “worst case scenario.” Also, saying that Wall be the best PG in the NBA in 3 years is absurd.

mikenike has always been a huge John Wall supporter. I wouldn’t put Rose/Wall over Williams/Paul in 3 years. It’s possible, but who knows.

Anyway, if any team takes Cousins over Wall I would shake my head in disgust. Unless my Jazz have the second pick, then I would do a little dance.

EDIT: Lupe Rose maaaan, I gave you points on all your posts here because, yeah, people on this site screw over the bearer of bad news.

Not to take sides but here are somethings both guys said.

Wilbon said guards max out quicker
Tony said big men take longer to develop and if you get the right one, your set for 10 plus years

If you haven’t noticed, Wall has come down to Earth in the conference slate. He’s not looking all that “unbelievable.” John Wall will be a great NBA player but Chris Paul, Derron Williams, and even a guy like Brandon Jennings could be better than John Wall. I don’t think any one of those players are going to be on their downsides in 3 years.

But I still think Wall will be the better pro when its all said and done between him and Cousins.

My thing is this: In the NBA, there are no “Radford” and ” Arkansas-Pine Bluff”

Your getting a whole bunch of great guards every game. Even the SEC, you dont have to many good guards

I said it before and I’ll say it again, John Wall is an elite athlete for the NBA. He is more athletic and quick than any point guard currently in the NBA (John Wall apparently has a 43 inch vertical).

Like I said, I think Deron Williams and Chris Paul are the best point guards in the NBA, and will be for the next 5-10 years. You just can’t teach what they do.

Anyway- It is. How many players dominated college and became flameouts in the NBA? I can name boatloads. We can open up draft classes from 1980-2009 and we will see boatloads of them….

John Wall will be a great NBA player but he is overrated right now. He has not played great since SEC play and he turns the ball over WAY to much. I still see Wall as a little better NBA player than Cousins but alot of yall are overrating him. He’s not going to be the best PG in three years I doubt he will be top 5 in three years.

RoseLupe, it is tough to predict player success to the NBA, but not with John Wall. Watch his games, he is an NBA player. It would take a major injury to bust John Wall.

This is a ridiculous argument.  Not even close, it’s WALL in a landslide. Cousins has a 7-6 wingspan and barely clears the rim on half his dunks. He won’t get any more athletic than he is right now. He’s got nice skills, but so does 40 year old Shaq.

Lets cool down on the Cousins hype. He’s moved into being a possible top 10 pick. Potential top 5 if UK wins it all. Better than Wall? Pass me some of that good stuff!!!!

How about Cousins vs Patterson????  Now that’s a more realistic debate.

There is no way Cousins is better, because they play different positions. you are comparing apples and oranges.. Walls job is to lead the team and they are winning. stats arent everything. Once Wall develops a jump shot, its a wrap. Remember, most of your recent stars (lebron, wade, paul, rose, etc…) had no jump shot when they came into the league. The only reason cousins is killin right now is because most teams they have played have decided to take wall out of the game..take the bitter with the sweet. cousins is a beast but everyone he is playing against is shorter than him and at least 40-50 lbs lighter, so of course he will dominate in college just like high school. He is a load in the middle, so Kentucky better ride him. But in the NBA where speed and athleticism is king, Im taking Wall…

Cousins is a better college player but Wall will be a better NBA player. Cousins lack of athleticism is what kills this argument. if you take out the many zones in college and have to guard Wall one one one just that alone will make him a better NBA player. Dude is hard to guard with size quickness and athleticism. People forget that Rose started off slow in college and in the NBA but at the end he was and is a beast. Wall can be better than Rose but I can not say that now and for them both to be better than Paul and Williams they will have to improve their playmaking and defense.

I do think Rose will be better than Wall, but I don’t think it’s absurd to suggest otherwise. I sort of think it’s absurd to suggest that anyone but Paul will be the best in three years. The guy is only 24 and already dominant at a level unlike any point guard since Magic. Give him a break.

As far as this whole Cousins thing, it’s just further proof that the majority of the mainstream media has no clue when it comes to scouting. These are the same people who thought it would be crazy not draft Beasley ahead of Rose, or that Adam Morrison deserved to be a top-3 pick.

OK. everyone knows how high i’m on Cousins, if we are comparing today’s Cousins and Wall imo it’s not even the questions who plays better…Patt vs Cousins realistic debate??Patt PT is almost twice bigger but Cousins is still better in almost everything..

but if we talking about NBA i think Wall SHOULD be better, no matter how good DeMarcus is Wall has just too huge potential..he could be the best pg one day, not just an allstar but the guy whom we called as superstar..
BUT Wall doesn’t look like last year’s Blake Griffin, he starts to slow down..
For me he is big time talent but I would take Rose over him. And it’s something like DeMarcus 30% Wall 70% in discussion who will be better IMO

its possible. alot of people dont think so because of the athlete and the hype wall has gotten and a guard will more then likely get the nod over a big man. and i say rondo will have it on lock more then rose. the only thing rose has shown to do better is score but that seems to be only because he has to. and people pick him because of the highlight factor. and lacking the athleteicism doesnt kill the arguement because many players who were great athletes end up not panning out. actually its more of the other way around because many of the players with good/great skill surpass the athletes.

Point guard is the hardest position in the NBA I like Walls game I think he will be a good PG but I really dont see what everybody else is seeing in him he turns the ball over a lot his jump shot is not consistent I know he is fast but he is playing against college kids I like cousins especially in his first year to have a better rookie year than wall but in the long run wall maybe the better player.
