While explaining why he didn’t extend an offer to Wall to tryout for the USA Team..
USA Chairman Jerry Colangelo said Wall is on their radar going forward..
But It could be down the road during the 2014 World Games at the earliest..
Those who follow basketball knows that was the political correct thing to say,but its not what was on his mind..Everyone knows that if Wall wins Rookie of the Year,Makes the All-Star team in 2011 and 2012 ..Stays out of trouble..And becomes as good as advertise ,there is no way ..
Wall won’t be sent an invite in 2012..

No matter who is on the team..And despite there being alot of talented guards trying out…Wall chances of making it are as good as anyones..There might be some guys that might turn down invitees…
Kobe will be approaching 34 and might want to rest for the season..
Chris Paul will be entering free agency..
    Billups will be 36

I agree with Colangelo, but I do believe he gets an invite in 2012, but won’t make the team a la Kevin Durant.

Remember when Durant got invited for the olympic team in 2008, but got cut. I see the same with John Wall.

That’s true Rudeboy, good points. Even though Wall will be finishing his 2nd year it is not a huge difference as to Durant. Wall is going to struggle to make the olympic team in 2016 because of the amount of high quality PG’s there are in the league. I would not be surprised if Wall’s first Olympic games are in 2020, though I believe he finds a way onto the 2016 team.

There are gonna be other players who will prob get an invite by then as well. You just never know how good someone is gonna become in the next three years. Someone will come out of the blue

by 2012 if all of what you said happens with the roy and allstar game i still dont see him getting an invite unless every pg on each the worlds team and Redeem team decides not to play but if kobe decides not to play i think that invite will automatically go to brandon roy or joe johnson or eric gordon and billups isnt on the 2012 so it really dosent matter his age and as of right now paul says hes playing in 2012 so i think that was the correct statement to make

I think in 2012 if Wall is playing the way he was hyped up to be, he will certainly get an invite, but the question is if he will make the cut. The NBA is stacked with young PG like Russell Westbrook, CP3, D-Will, Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans(combo or PG, however you want to put it), Rajon Rondo, and Stephen Curry, and there are many more to come. So it will be hard for him to make the cut, no matter how good he will become.

Let Wall play one NBA game first. No telling how good or bad he will be. His ceiling is as high as anyones, but anything can happen.

hey knicksfan, it does make a huge difference whether youre after rookie or sophmore season..i remember coack K said that it was really hard to cut durant after his rookie season, so i’m sure that after his sophmore season, where he almost won “Most Improved Player” he would have been a LOCK for the team–that one year makes a huge difference

i think all wall has to do is develop a jump shot and he’ll at least get invited to the olympics, but that’s obviously easier said than done
