Forte IVParticipantI think its a two man race right now and no one else is close. Terry Stotts of Portland and Jeff Hornacek of Phoenix. My vote goes to Jeff. Everyone thought they were tanking, yet they just swept the season series with Indiana and are now 28-18.

imAboutDatActionParticipantJeff Hornacek will run away with it. Stotts is doing a great job but people could see them sneaking in with the 7th or 8th seed before the season started. People were predicting the Suns would be the worst team of all time record wise. now they’re on their way to making the playoffs.
bledsoe going out is only going to help his case even more because the team still hasnt missed a beat.

BasterdInABasketParticipantI agree Mike Brown is an especially awful NBA head coach but Clevland doesn’t really have THAT much talent, that franchise has been completely irrelevant (minus lucking out on Lebron and couldn’t even win with him) for decades and have thrown together a garbage roster headed by two chuckers and a lot of raw young guys that need a teacher especially on the offensive side. I’d take Brown any day as an assistant coach with his defensive mind but he has absolutely no creativity or even a mind for offense and player development. Everyone saw that hiring as a disaster when it happened.
Anyways Hornacek should run away with it if PHX makes the playoffs, most over-achieving team in recent memory.0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/30/2014 - 5:55pm #867046

Ghost01ParticipantCompletely agree on Hornacek and Stotts…
But I just wanted to give a shoutout to Tom Thibadeau. This man (legitimately) may be the greatest regular season coach of all time. It doesn’t matter who you tell him to roll out there, who’s hurt, who’s traded, etc. He gets his guys to buy into a system, and they play phenomenal defense no matter if they have 2 or 3 minus defenders on the court.
Will it matter in the playoffs? No. They need to talent to win there. But in terms of regular season success, Thibs’ resume is unbelievable.

JordanC20ParticipantI’d say Gregg Poppovich because personally I thought this season would be the downfall of the Spurs but they are sitting at # 2 in the West.

jaycee24ParticipantIf there was an eastern conference COY award I’d give it to Steve Clifford. To be a first year coach and have your team compete and play at a high level for what talent they have I think deserves praise.
