KHAM83ParticipantAccording to Hoopshype, armed with 15 million in cap space, Cleveland either has, or is willing, to offer Bynum a lucrative one year deal. Only other team that has been linked to Bynum has been Dallas, but IMO I think Dallas should pursue Pek instead.
On that note: How do you all like Bynum to Cleveland? I think its a great move by the Cavs if it is indeed a 1 year deal

KHAM83ParticipantWhat about the other bigs, Pek & Asik?
If Dallas were to get Pek, I think Minnesota should then pursue Asik, who will bring the post defense they lack. I think Derrick Williams/Barea for Asik/picks is a fair deal.

CavsFan07ParticipantIf healthy, it’s a great acquisition and worth every penny. He’s young enough to fit in with the core players and the one year deal would keep cap flexibility for the much anticipated Summer of 2014.
The fear is, of course, him being unhealthy. Nobody wants to pay several million dollars to a guy who won’t be playing (ask 76ers fans)

GrandmamaParticipantIt would be a very intriguing signing for Cleveland if it’s a one year deal. As they sit right now I think they’d be in contention for a 7 or 8 seed. With the possibility of a healthy Bynum they’d look really solid.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI hope it works out. Bynum could be a force in Cleveland. That’s a top 3-5 team in the east with a healthy bynum

JunkYardDogParticipantwell if you have 15M to waste… why not…
I just wonder how the current players will take that. Bynum is not very easy to manage in a roster. Respected players as Varejao or even zeller who work hard deserve their place on the roster and the playing time.

JmpasqParticipantI think this is a good move I would try to do a Team option 2nd year just in case he plays well. 2 reasons, either u want to keep him and build with him or with the 2nd year option another team may be willing to part with a pick or 2 for him in trade if the Cavs are set on having the cap space for 2014-15. If your a team that has problems attracting big time FA’s and u have to spend 85% of the cap anyway why not try.

Sewok15ParticipantCleveland seems set in their frontcourt with Varejao, Zeller, Thompson, Clark and Bennett. If they want to waste 15 million on a guy that doesn’t really even care to play they should go for it. It wouldn’t set the team back like it did the Sixers because they traded to get him but to me Bynum is a waste of money at this point in his career.

wrectorParticipantI think it’s a great idea. A one year trial, that way it preserves their cap for their run at LeBron next year.
