Longtime NBA guard Speedy Claxton has retired.

Claxton, a veteran of seven seasons, spent time with the 76ers, Spurs, Warriors, Hornets and Hawks.

The Warriors have hired him as a college scout.

I’m surprised he didn’t try to get on with Hoftstra’s program, his alma mater. But cool, he’s got a scouting job. He’s my envy now lol

As a current Hofstra student I am proud of the name he gave to my university. I got to see him last February at a Hofstra game. He’s a good guy, but quiet. Being a scout fits him perfect, he is not the coaching type.

Yes they did shut down the football program, but that name does not ring a bell. I knew a few guys who were on the team. What HS are you going to?? Feel free to send me an email, if you have any questions about the school.

Yeah, Speedy had a 42 inch vertical to go along with skills. If he hadn’t hurt his knee before (during the summer before) his rookie year, he may still be playing. When he played he served as a good role player.
