Chris Paul on one of these teams would automatically make them my #2 seed in the West…. However, how could either of these teams make it happen?

The Mavs don’t have much to offer a team like the Hornets….. Would Kidd be the 6th man??? How would Chris Paul and Jason Kidd play together and who would be the SG?

Portland would probably have to trade Oden, Aldridge, Batum or Bayless. Chris Paul and Brandon Roy would be the best starting guards in the league.

I still think the Magic works out best. I also believe any deal involving Chris Paul will probably include Emeka Okafor as well.

Man i would love it if the Blazers got Paul without giving up Oden.

Hed help our big men out so much Oden is great for lobs and think how many hed get from Paul?

I think Monty Williams is high on batum so Neww Orleans probably wants him.

I just wanna keep Oden, Roy, and Aldridge.

If we could keep Batum sohehow….. man.

But hey id say the Blazers are either third, or fourth in the race right now.

    Hopefully it changes.

There’s only one player on each team that won’t be traded… Dirk and Roy.

For the Blazers to get Paul I think they have to give up Batum, Oden, Aldridge and Bayless and there is no chance and hell you can get Paul without trading at least 2 of these guys.

Well i think they should offer Batum, Bayless, Pryzbilla, Miller, Elliot Williams.

The rights to two of our players overseas (probably Freeland, and Claver)

    non protected 2011, 2013, & 2015 1st rounder.

for Paul, and Okafor or Posey.

    and hope they accept that.

I guess the Hornets can get Kidd from the Mavs along with a few draft picks and additional players like roddy buckets, and Alexis Ajinca.

Makes no sense for the Hornets to get Kidd….

    How about this…

Dampier, Caron Butler, Roddy and Ajinca… Draft Picks….

    Paul and Okafor

Hornets would have a lot of cap space for the next couple seasons…

    Paul – Terry – Marion – Dirk – Haywood – Kidd – Okafor

    Thats pretty sick

Most of the supposed list for Paul makes no sense.

Mavs- No Dampier contract to save NO $13 million instantly.
Lakers- Bynum and nothing else of value (I’ll save you all the time, Ebanks and Caracter have no trade value).
Knicks- Only a New Yorker thinks they have attractive pieces.
Magic- The only guy who isn’t overpaid is Howard, and their picks if they get Paul will be 29th or 30th for the next decade.
Portland- They have a new GM who won’t be married to all their young players. The great failing of Pritchard was that he spent millions of Allen’s money to amass picks, and he overvalued them when it came time to package them to make the team better. They can put together an unparalleled deal. Look at the list: Greg Oden, Jerryd Bayless, Nicolas Batum, Luke Babbitt, Elliot Williams, Armon Johnson, Rudy Fernandez, Patty Mills, Victor Claver, Joel Freeland, and Peteri Koponen. They can even add in the expiring deal of Przybilla to take back Okafor. Cho can do what Pritchard was too stubborn to do and elevate them to the top of the NBA if he pulls this off.

Anyway since when Do trades have to be even or makes sense. You cam get a good player for picks money and expiring contracts. I think some of y’all forget that

Portland needs to do this trade IMO, something like Aldridge, Przybilla, and Bayless for Okafor and Paul. That gives Portland a backcourt of Paul,Roy, and Batum which would be deadly.

Don’t confuse free agent sign-and-trades or mid-season owner-issued salary dumps with this situation. Paul has two more years on his deal, he is stuck unless New Orleans gets a king’s ransom. It is more like the Kobe situation from 2007 than anything else.

Id dont think theres a frontrunner, in different articles that the Knicks, and Blazers are the frontrunners.

The suprise team to me could Oklahoma City.

They have a lot of young talent, and im sure hed love to team up with Durant.

I put LA 3rd but I wanted to put them 5th because I don’t really see them jumping into the CP3 race unless the other teams really fall apart in talks. He wants to go there and I would believe LA is interested but I don’t see a deal happening between them this season if he were to be traded in the season. Not to mention, I really don’t understand how Bynum is a highly touted guy. He’s a health concern IMO. Also, if LA were to do a deal with NO, A 3rd team would have to be involved so NO could move a Big for some wing help/ Pg help.

Now that I think about it, I should move Dallas up because they could move to get Paul and have Dirk and Chandler, who was good with Paul in NO

Bynum doesn’t miss whole seasons and when healthy he has allstar ability on a title team while being 22. That’s much better then say a gallo who played good on a bad team . On top of being a legit 7footer. Plus only knock fans seem to be high on there tradeable players

Do you know how many players we could say that about in the history of the NBA? I just feel New Orleans would be foolish to take Bynum ( who hasn’t played 82 games in a season since 2006) and Lamar Odom ( who shows up maybe 35 games a season) for Chris Paul.

I’m not saying NY has the best offer: Portland has that on lock but LA’s trade to me would seem like that deal that would benefit LA and LA only.

I think Portland has a good chance of acquiring CP3 because of Monty Williams. Monty was assistant coach for the Blazers so he has a lot of knowledge of the players in Portland. Bayless, Rudy, Miller, Joel, and a future 1st rounder for Paul and another player.

LOL, Nah. If i really overrated all NY’s talent, I would be saying Gallo for Paul straight up. All the deals I proposed were deals were NY were giving up like 4 players and 2 1st rounders. I just feel Bynum is not a centerpiece guy. Your a Lakers fan so if I’m overrated NY’s players, I could say the same thing about you and overrating Bynum. I just choose not to 🙂

Umm the difference is I’m not the only one who thinks. Actually knows other teams want bynum. You have even admitted as much by saying you don’t seem what the fuss is about him.

Who said bynum is a center peice guy? The fact is he’s better and wanted more b teams then any knick player and possibly any two knick players not named Amare. You basically never get a center peice guy when trading for a superstar.

How many times have u heard of teams trying to trade for any of the knicks?

Who said bynum is a center peice guy?

Every deal for the Lakers adding Chris Paul has Andrew Bynum as the main piece going back to New Orleans. I know what the fuss is about Bynum. He’s a good post player. I would almost call him a throwback banger in the post. My issue is Paul is a all star guard who had a monster season for New Orleans when he and his teammates were healthy. Bynum is good but he hasn’t played 82 games since 2006, He’s had 3 leg injures in that time. Why would I move a all star for someone who’s a potential all star who’s shown he’s not healthy.

Take the Knicks out of this and please answer my question.

What are you talking about? No one gets a center peice in a trade for Paul. If they go by that logic Dallas has to trade Roy. Dirk for Dallas. Amare for knicks and Kobe for lakers.

Who was the center peice for gasol
    shaq
    bosh
    bron
    boozer

I’m not sure u understand how trades work when trading for a superstar. U don’t get equal value

are any of the knicks prices a venter peice? Yet you are saying they canake a trade for Paul

You have to read man. I’m sure you didn’t read my last post. First, I said take NY out of it. I even moved it down so there would be no confusion.

Andrew Bynum in the deal to New Orleans would be the best player going back to New Orleans, thus he’s the centerpiece of New Orleans’ haul in the trade.

“I’m not sure u understand how trades work when trading for a superstar. U don’t get equal value” All I can say to that is DUH.

Also answer my question- You still didn’t answer it, yet more proof that you didn’t read it instead you read my 1st sentence.

By centerpiece I believe he means Andrew Bynum is the best player the Lakers willl offer in a trade. Not centerpiece like a 1st option on a title team like Kobe is.

It and don’t see what ur question is. Is the question why would they trade for bynum with his health issues. Because he’s twenty two and very talented while being big and still not in his prime. Can any other team say that they have that.

It’s easier to find other positions but alot harder to find a good young center with allstar potential. U see how many teams always want injury prone cby and he never had the potential bynum has

If the Lakers wouldn’t trade Bynum for Paul thats just fucking ludicrous.

Bynum is soooo overrated. I think Odom is more valuable than Bynum…. (right now)

Although I think the Lakers would be better off with a center than a guard, Chris Paul is so much better talent wise..

I know the Hornets wouldn’t accept a deal like Bynum for Paul straight up but it’s hilarious how a lot of you guys wouldn’t trade Bynum for Paul.

Okafor and Paul for Aldridge, Pryz, Miller, Fernandez, 2 1st round picks and euro prospect

i’d put bayless in but the hornets dont need him

    Paul – Bayless – Johnson
    Roy – Williams
    Batum – Matthews
    Okafor – Pendengraph – Cunningham
    Oden – Camby

    Collison – Miller
    Fernandez – Thorton
    Posey – Pondexter – Peja
    West – Brackins – Wright
    Aldridge – Pryz – Songailla

Hornets future is Collison, Aldridge, and Brackins plus there picks and the blazers picks
30 million off the books after the season
and 22.04 the season after that

    I understand….. I probably wouldn’t wanna do that trade as a Laker fan either…

but Bynum for Paul is what I am talking about…. I feel you have to be crazy not to jump all over this trade. You already have Gasol who is the best big man in the West. Chris Paul is a proven superstar while Bynum can’t seem to stay healthy. He seems to just be a pretty good center…. nothing special. Lakers fans really overrate this guy.

If it doesn’t work out for some reason, the Lakers can easily trade for another big man. I think Emeka Okafor would be involved.

    Paul – Kobe – Artest – Gasol – Okafor – Odom

If New Orleans part with him this summer, its going to be bigger than that. It is going to Oden, Batum, and those four in exchange for Paul and Okafor’s monster contract. If not, they’ll let him sit and sulk. They might ask Mitch Kupchak how he handled it. Ante up or no deal.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go back to OKC. No one thought LeBron was going to Miami, and look what happened there. Paul loved OKC, and still lives there I believe. They have the best young talent in the league. A Deal like Westbrook, Green, Kristic for Paul and Okafor seems like a good deal.

NO would get a budding star PG, a good SF, and maybe some cap relief, and the Thunder would get a top 10 player in the league and would be a offensive and defensive nightmare with Ibaka starting. Makes alot of sense
