michaelds911ParticipantI know I may sound crazy but I think that if Charlie Villenueva gets himself together and gets some consistency that he can be just as good as Amare Stoudemire. If you watch some of his games which very rarely air on national t.v. you’ll see how hard it is for guys to stop him. He is on par with Amare athletically, has a nice handle, and has a pretty good mid to long range jump shot, but for some reason he can’t put it all together on a nightly basis. Do I sound Logical or Crazy?

derekmorrisi also think charlie v could be a great player, he has the height and the skill, but also the athleticism and jumper to be better than good.. he is very underated but puts up good numbers.. he just needs to focus on playing i think, cuz sometimes it doesnt look like he is into the game, but when he does focus he can take it over

drew2288ParticipantI think Charlie is a better offensive player than Amare. Charlie is a player who shoots it well from the perimeter and as well as do it on the post. I don’t think charlie is athlectic as Amare but he has more skills.

steve calaParticipantcharlie has alot of talent and all that but it hasnt translated in the league. He has not been able to bring his dominance that he had with him in high school to advanced levels. When he was at Uconn he was just another piece of the puzzle he was a solid role player, just like he is in the NBA. Amare Stoudemire is a franchise player and has been since he came in the league and won Rookie of the Year. Villanueva could average a double double one year but dont get crazy and compare him to Amare

michaelds911ParticipantI said “if” he gets himself together he could be just as good because i’ve seen many games where he will drop 35 and 12 and look unstoppable, and then the next night drop 14 and 7. The only reason he was a role player when he was at UConn was because there were like 5 other guys on the team who had NBA talent. And Amare is nowhere near a franchise player, a franchise player can single handedly put their team in the playoffs every year and Amare cant do that.

steve calaParticipantAmare is just head and shoulders better than Villanueva is and could be. Villanueva isnt going to get any better hes a finished product, and with the right supporting cast Amare could be the best player on a playoff team

michaelds911Participanthow much of a better supporting cast can you get when you have the most unselfish point guard in the league on your team, and some pretty good role players lolololol .

austin0123ParticipantCharlie V has the wepons but he does not know how to deploy them. Watching him live you notice that he is so good at creating open shots for himself, yet he misses two feet out from the basket. Its weird because he gets the hard part done by getting by his man and breaking down the D, but then chokes when it comes to actually putting the ball in the basket. Amare is and always will be better for these reasons.
