According to Sports Illustrated, the Boston Celtics are locked in on drafting Gordon and will most likely choose him 6th overall.

this doesn’t really mean anything IMO.

Celtics are still more "locked in" in trading that pick for Kevin Love. Drafting Gordon is absolute or worst case scenario for Ainge

I think it does mean something if they don’t get a deal done for Love. If they indeed draft Gordon that changes the dynamics of the  teams drafting after them.

Or if they want that PG badly, get Smart (haha Get Smart, get it?) and one of these PFs goes to Sacramento where he forms a potentially monster 4-5 combo with DCuz.

    This draft is getting interesting.

Hope Vonleh falls to the Lakers then.

This smells like a smokescreen to me.. I know the Celtics are "rebuilding" but the East is really bad, they are one player away from contending.. They want K Love, so maybe they are saying this just in case someone like Minny or someone else wants Gordon. Then they can trade with that team

Could be rumors from the Boston media or Ainge sending out smoke screens…If a team let it be known that they’re ‘Locked In’ on a certain player as high as number 6 for sure…Wouldnt they secretly give him a promise so he shut down his other workouts and not put it out in the media?

Celtics already have Green, Sullinger, Bass, and Wallace. If I were Boston I would target a shooting guard in case Bradley leaves this summer or, maybe, a better center prospect just in case Olynyk doesn’t pan out. Just my opinion.

If this is the case I could see Randle dropping to the sixers at 10…Parker and Randle..be a heck of a draft for Philly..

      MCW

      SG-?

      Parker

      Randle

      Noel

If the Love deal does not go down he would be a great fit. Green is painfully inconsistent but Gordon and him running the brake with Bradley and Rondo is scary and a strong defensive line up. Maybe its just a smoke screen, but a smart move and possibility.

I have Aaron Gordon at 6 in my mock draft with Gordon going to Minnesota in a Kevin Love trade.  So, I have Minnesota replacing Love with Aaron Gordon, Jared Sullinger, and Brandon Bass along with the other Boston first rounder plus other assets.

Anthony.  It all hinges on Melo. If Melo wont come they will keep Gordon and not deal for Love. It all rest on Melo because he is the real target for the Celtics in this draft.

If Gordon is in the mix to go to the Celtics at 6 then someone from the 2nd group in the draft will fall a bit. The vibe is that Exum is likely to go at 4, Utah will unlikely take Smart so we assume they are either Vonleh or Randle so that then pushes Smart and one of Vonleh or Randle towards Lakers and Kings.

Boston did the big 3 reboot in 2007 but having let Doc, KD and PP move on last summer it looked as if they were going to rebuild long term via the draft. But with some cap space they could land a target and with nice trading pieces they could pull off a big trade so to get a 2014 version of the big 3 including Rondo would not be that hard to do in theory.

I’ll throw in a total wilcard here PP – total Boston legend is a FA now so is it that much of a stretch he comes home for one more run with the team to compliment the new big 3 and the likelihood of a future job in the front office or as a team ambassador.
