ESPN Insider reporting that Cleveland trying to swap 4 and 22 for Portlands 6 and 11, as they feel they can get Barnes at 6. I’m not sure I like this option for Portland unless they in love with a guy that they don’t feel will be there at 6. They’ve got what, 3 guys on contract for next year. I feel like that 11th pick is much more valuable than the 22nd. Not a great move by Portland. Furthermore, if Barnes is gone by 6, any of Cleveland’s remaining options will help their team this season. I like the trade for Cavs fans.

Barnes will likely be gone, but Beal or Drummond will still be there and both of them fill needs. Then they get another solid player at 11. Portland is going to get whoever is left too so idk how much sense this trade makes. Both teams are in a good position

Actually if it is possible Portland would up and grabs Drummond.  That would give them a long and athletic backcourt.  obviously it would be risky since the Oden thing but you have to think if you are Portland you can’t continue to be unlucky and Alridge is a big man and he did not have any big im injury.  I think if Sacramento goes in a different direction either Barnes or Beal could be there.  They could grab Beal and then take a small forward at 11 or a Center Like Meyers.

Suppose this went down and Portland picked Barnes 4th?  Lol.

I think the best option then would be for the Cavs to pick Beal if he is there and Leonard.  I really dont think Drummond will be around at 6.

This may be a good deal for both teams.  Portland can get Drummond, who I assume they are targetting and Cleveland gets Barnes plus another higher pick.  It is risky this early in the workout process, but it could be beneficial for both teams.

Cleveland should be able to get Barnes OR Beal at 6, and I think they are happy with either.

I like this trade for Portland, but I wouldn’t do it until draft day. If Drummond is taken pick #2 or #3, than Portland would be screwed. So Portland wouldn’t do this trade until pick #4 is on the clock.

But if Drummond is available at 4, there is a chance he might not be at 6, so I think Portland would jump on this. Say Portland gets Drummond/Teague or Drummond/Wroten. That’s still really good.

Obviously, Cleveland would want to do this. They know one of Beal, Barnes, MKG, or Robinson would be available at #6, so why not trade down two spots? Plus they also get to move their second pick up thirteen spots, and maybe grab a SG in Waiters, Ross, Rivers, maybe even Lamb? Definitely a good trade for Cleveland.

Between Druommond, Barnes, MKG, Beal, and Robinson, one of them will be there at 6, so I really like this for Cleveland, unless the Trail Blazers secretly want Barnes or want Durmmond and think Sacramento will take him, not sure why they’d do it but if the aforementioned is true then I could see it going down.

This would be great for both teams, the chance for Cleveland to get Barnes/Beal with the 6th pick and Rivers/Lamb with the 11th would dramatically improve two positions that the Cavaliers dramatically need filled.

I understand trading up to get the player you want, but by looking at a lot of mock drafts most have 2-6 interchangeable. So is it really worth giving up two lottery picks to move up two spots? So if the Blazers are high on Drummond, what if he is selected in the top three? The risk of your player not being there is not worth giving up two lottery selections to move up two spots and a late first round pick.
