Both Chris Broussard and Brian Windhorst have reported that Cleveland has no intention to include Andrew Wiggins in a trade for Kevin Love. Wiggins will play tonight in Las Vegas.

Now, I sort of expected this, but the Cavs first offer of Waiters, Bennett, and pick was just bogus. It’s time for Flip to draw a line in the sand: No Wiggins, no trade.

I believe Flip should take the Mel Gibson in Braveheart approach. This scene explains what I mean:

 I don’t see the Cavs giving up Wiggins as I wonder whether LeBron looked at the youngstes there and thought this team can have a much longer shelf life than if I recommit to Miami. Also Wiggins will be on a rookie deal so won’t take up the salary an experienced superstar would.

The Cavs with LeBron will be a likely 50 win plus team maybe more if Wiggins is as good as we think he is and LeBron already has his titles so he would not be pressurising Cleveland to become totally win now. 

Cleveland still have several draft picks due to them so can keep the high pick young core if they want to make trades and will now be able to add a top veteran FA or two to give the bench depth.

I am not saying give all of that, but I would do what it takes to keep Wiggins.
