rileymcshea3ParticipantOK Dirk is a great player that has now won a championship but wait till his career is over to think of how good his career was. Right now they are they ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD so that means they have a really good chance of winning another championship next year when they get Caron Butler back. Not only is the Mavs the best team in the world but people are saying that Dirk is the best player in the world right now so that means he has a really good chance of winning another MVP.So just wait till he retires because people dont know how great a player is till they have retired and people look back on his stats and relize how amazing he was.Take Kobe for inference people know he is great but once he retires people will see he has played in the all star game 13 times (gonna be more) ,won a MVP (could be more) ,and was in the MVP voting 11 straight years,5 time Finals Champion (could be more), a NBA all defensive player for 12 straight years (probably be more) ,he also had a 82 point game and most people dont even have him in the top 10 players of all time when he should clearly be a no doubter for the top 10 of all time but people will have him there win he retires.

raybeasParticipantbest NBA player born outside the USA behind Hakeem and Timmay. Maybe top20 overall? Somewhere between 20 and 30.

BBall4life88ParticipantLet’s stop with all the lists and rankings because it’s not fair to the past greats, and it’s not fair to Dirk because you end up putting Dirk down in the process after such a great year.
Let the lists and rankings happen when Dirk retires but for now his status could change depending on how he finishes out his career…and i think the Mavs have another run or two in them.
Look at Lebron he went from Jordan type comparisons with his statistics and numbers in his first couple of years in the league (Lebron 18-24 years old) but Lebron has regressed in that comparison where Jordan has surpassed him by lightyears (24 years old +). Now Lebron isn’t even on the same planet as Jordan, his game hasn’t progressed like Jordans.

cward23ParticipantDirk is good and a champion, lets just leave it at that (he’s also been this good for awhile he didnt just get better this year)
